A TikTok content creator recognised for sharing pro-Trump material has been detained in California amid an inquiry into suspected child sexual abuse imagery.
Joshua Lee Hefner, 34, was apprehended after officers carried out a search warrant at a premises in Madera County, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office confirmed. Officials revealed the case commenced following two CyberTips submitted by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children concerning suspected possession of child sexual abuse material within the region.
The sheriff’s department stated that officers subsequently identified Hefner as the suspect throughout their inquiry. Authorities claim electronic equipment belonging to Hefner containing child sexual abuse material was seized during the operation, as reported by Need To Know.
During the probe, Hefner was working for Madera Unified School District as a part-time cafeteria playground assistant stationed at Dixieland Elementary School, officials confirmed.
Officers later approached Hefner at the educational facility, where he was arrested.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office stated that investigators have not identified any pupils from Dixieland Elementary School as victims “at this time” after a preliminary forensic examination of the confiscated equipment.
Authorities confirmed all electronic devices linked to Hefner have been confiscated as part of the continuing investigation.
Prior to his arrest, Hefner had amassed a substantial following on TikTok under the handle @hefner1991, frequently posting political videos in support of Donald Trump and MAGA-related topics.
Several of his videos had garnered hundreds of thousands of views.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has stated that the investigation is still underway and has encouraged anyone with pertinent information or potential victims to get in touch with detectives.
