David Beckhams’ favorite taco spot gifting away free meals and frozen margs

David Beckham’s Miami cult favourite Coyo Taco is bringing free tacos and frozen margaritas to East London for one night only ahead of its first UK restaurant opening

Londoners are being given the chance to get their hands on free tacos and frozen margaritas as a cult Miami restaurant loved by the Beckham family lands in the capital.

Coyo Taco, which counts the Beckhams among its famous fans, is hosting a one-day-only pop-up in East London on June 3 ahead of opening its first permanent UK restaurant later this month. The popular Mexican eatery will be serving hundreds of free tacos and frozen margaritas at Hoxton Arches from 6pm, with food available on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.

The Miami hotspot has built a huge following across the US thanks to its fresh ingredients, vibrant atmosphere and authentic Mexican flavours. Now British foodies will get their first chance to sample the menu before the official London launch.

Guests can tuck into Coyo Taco’s signature Beef Birria tacos, made with hand-pressed tortillas, slow-cooked beef, white onion, coriander and lime, finished with a crispy melted cheese crust.

Vegetarian visitors won’t miss out either, with Roasted Cauliflower tacos also on offer. The meat-free option features grilled cauliflower in a rich pumpkin mole, served with aged cheese, pickled onions and avocado.

To wash it all down, frozen margaritas will be handed out free of charge while a live DJ provides the soundtrack, bringing a slice of Miami nightlife to East London.

The event comes after Coyo Taco announced plans to open its first UK restaurant in St James’s Park this June, with ambitions to roll out as many as 50 locations nationwide.

Founded in Miami’s Wynwood neighbourhood by Alan Drummond, Sven Vogtland and chef Scott Linquist, the restaurant has become famous for its “todo es fresco” philosophy, meaning “everything fresh”.

Food fans hoping to grab a free bite will need to be quick, with organisers expecting demand to be high.

The pop-up takes place at Hoxton Arches, Arch 402, Cremer Street, London E2 8HD, on Wednesday June 3 from 6pm until 9pm, or until all the tacos and margaritas have been snapped up.
