Woman, 38, peddled nasty medicine utilizing ‘graft cellphone’ in county traces operation
Abigail Wright, 38, of Nantwich was jailed for five years and seven months after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs – heroin and crack cocaine – using a ‘graft phone’
A woman from Nantwich has been imprisoned for over five years after confessing to her involvement in the distribution of illicit drugs.
Abigail Wright faced sentencing at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday, June 10, where she received a prison term of five years and seven months. The 38-year-old resident of Soot Hill, Nantwich, had earlier admitted guilt to two charges of being involved in the supply of class A drugs (heroin and crack cocaine).
The investigation was initiated when detectives identified a mobile phone number being utilised by a county lines gang operating in the Nantwich area. This device, referred to as a ‘graft phone’, was employed to peddle illegal drugs in the vicinity, disseminating mass text messages daily promoting the sale of heroin and crack cocaine.
Upon further investigation, officers determined that Wright was managing the phone and she was subsequently apprehended near her residence on Soot Hill on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
A subsequent search of her property led to the discovery of approximately 20 packets of heroin and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of around £200, along with the graft phone.
During examination of the phone, officers retrieved hundreds of messages advertising the sale of illicit drugs.
After compiling a wealth of evidence, Wright was later charged in connection with the sale of illegal drugs. Following the sentencing, the detective spearheading the investigation stated: “I welcome the substantial sentence handed to Wright and I hope that it acts as a warning to those involved in the sale of illegal drugs.
“Illegal drugs can have a devastating impact on not only drug users, but the community around them, and we are committed to doing all we can to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
“We will always act on any information about drug activity provided to us and would urge anyone who believes this activity is happening near to them, to please contact us on 101 or visit www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us .”
