England WAGs reunited with gamers at luxurious base after Thomas Tuchel lifts World Cup ban

England WAGs were allowed to reunite with players at the World Cup after Thomas Tuchel overturned the initial hotel ban as preparations step up for the opening game against Croatia

England stars have been preparing for the World Cup alongside thier wives and girlfriends after the players’ partners were permitted to reunite with their partners at their hotel despite initially being barred from doing so.

After manager Thomas Tuchel eased restrictions on visits to the team’s pre-World Cup base, The Belgrove Resort and Spa in West Palm Beach, Florida, several WAGs chose to make the journey to see their loved ones. Amongst those visiting was Jude Bellingham’s girlfriend Ashlyn Castro, who spent an evening playing cards with him after making the four-hour drive to reach the footballer.

Ashlyn turned to social media to post some snaps looking stunning at the hotel. The 28-year-old model and influencer met the 22-year-old Real Madrid star online in late 2024, with the couple going public with their romance in 2025.

Harry Kane’s wife Kate and Kobbie Mainoo’s girlfriend Layla Roye have also reportedly visited the players who are preparing for the tournament. The romantic encounters followed initial reports that only players and staff were permitted entry to the hotel.

“It’s very unusual for them to spend so much time with the footballers before the World Cup,” a source told the publication. “But Tuchel wants his pre-tournament camp relaxed before heading to Kansas.”

After England’s 3-0 win over Costa Rica, Tuchel afforded his players additional time with their partners, friends and family before the tournament kicks off.

The team have since moved their camp to Swope Soccer Village base in Missouri as they step up their preparations for their opening game against Croatia next Wednesday.

However, England have fallen victim to a bold World Cup theft, with players’ boots and crucial training gear allegedly ‘stolen in transit.’

Partners of England’s footballers were previously accommodated on a luxury cruise ship throughout the Qatar World Cup in 2022. Former England manager Gareth Southgate was also rumoured to have prohibited players’ other halves from featuring in a behind-the-scenes World Cup documentary.

However, he did permit the partners of his players to join them at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha following England’s 6-2 thrashing of Iran in the opening match of the 2022 tournament.

For the 2024 European Championships in Germany, Southgate allowed players’ partners into England’s training base after each group stage match. Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has welcomed Tuchel’s change of approach.

He said, “The tournament for us doesn’t start until June 17. So, I think this is going to be train hard, get used to the climate, have a bit of freedom, bit of downtime.”
