Alan Pardew says ‘I used to be like Kim Kardashian’s sugar daddy’ and makes Lewis Hamilton declare
Alan Pardew claims he was ‘like Kim Kardashian’s sugar daddy’ as the former Premier League boss laid bare an odd interaction with F1 king Lewis Hamilton’s new girlfriend
Alan Pardew said he was ‘like Kim Kardashian’s sugar daddy’, in probably the oddest thing anyone has ever heard.
The former Premier League boss, 64, is enjoying his time away from the dugout after last managing Greek side Aris until February 2023. Pardew has seemingly been taking the time to tick off his bucket list as he attended the Monaco Grand Prix earlier this month.
However, ‘Chocolate’ – infamously given that nickname by former West Ham striker Dean Ashton because his boss at the time “loves himself so much he’d eat himself if he could” – got more than he bargained for as he came eyeball to eyeball with Kim, 45, as she stole the show in Monte Carlo.

It was the reality superstar’s first public appearance at an F1 race since going public with her romance with Lewis Hamilton.
Kim cheered her boyfriend home to finish second around Monte Carlo before Hamilton won his first Grand Prix with Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix on Sunday to move firmly into World Championship contention.
Reacting to Hamilton’s win in Barcelona this weekend on talkSPORT, Pardew lauded the effect that Kim has had on the seven-time world champion. “He’s obviously got a little spur in him!” Pardew joked.
The former Reading, Charlton Athletic, Southampton, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion boss then also spoke about his brush with Kim in Monaco in an incredible and bizarre interaction.
He said: “How about me at Monaco? How about this? So the security guards were having a pop at me, trying to say to me the usual ‘not there, not there sir, no, no.”
“I could see her walking towards and I was like ‘look I’m just standing out of the way because she’s coming through with her entourage. But no they weren’t having it and he literally pushed me straight into Kim.
“There I was next to her, walking alongside her like her sugar daddy, for a period, about a second! I was hoping somebody was going to take a picture but they didn’t.”
Billionaire Kim was not spotted in Spain for Hamilton’s emotional maiden Ferrari victory, but she did celebrate the Brit’s win by posting a picture of the moment he crossed the line with a love heart emoji.
Kim was also felt in the Mercedes garage last weekend as she sent Kimi Antonelli a personal gift after she appeared to steal the 19-year-old’s towel following his win in Monaco.
In brilliant humour, Kim sent Antonelli a replacement towel to the Mercedes garage in Spain. A video showed the teenager being handed a fresh white towel, with the words: “To Kimi from Kim”.
A shocked Antonelli asked if the gift was really from her, and after a team member confirmed it was, he replied: “Thank you, Kim”, and removed the ribbon to drape the towel around his neck.
