Some of the passengers onboard a horror bus crash that reportedly “flipped” over in Wales have been rushed to hospital. Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that the collision took place in the coastal town of Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire on the A484 near the Kidwelly roundabout (Parc y Bocs).

Now the Welsh Ambulance Service has confirmed that six individuals were taken to hospital for further medical attention. However, thankfully none of their injuries are believed to be life threatening.

In addition to the six people who were taken to hospital, a further 13 casualties were assessed and discharged at the scene, reports WalesOnline. The Welsh Ambulance Service said all the individuals who sought comfort and safety at the John Burns Centre in Kidwelly have also now left the centre.

The major incident has now been stood down after emergency services were called to the crash at around 12.20pm. A witness, who lives nearby, told WalesOnline that the bus may have flipped onto its side, which has since been shown on images from the scene.

Dyfed-Powys Police, Welsh Ambulance Service and Mid and West Wales Fire Rescue Service have issued a joint statement about the bus crash.

“We would like to thank the public for their understanding and patience while emergency services worked together at the scene. We would also like to thank the John Burns Centre in Kidwelly for their support.

A spokesperson from Wales Air Ambulance said: “I can confirm the Wales Air Ambulance helicopters attended an incident in that region today (23/06/26). The road affected, the A484 near the Kidwelly roundabout, will remain closed for collision investigators to carry out their inquiries, police said.

First Bus has confirmed the bus involved in the collision was their X11 service which runs between Swansea and Carmarthen, via Llanelli and Pembrey.

Zoe Hand, the managing director of First Bus Franchising – which covers Wales, said: “Our X11 service was involved in an incident earlier this afternoon on the A484 close to the junction with Old Forge Lane, near Kidwelly.

“A team from our depot at Ammanford travelled to scene immediately to support our driver and look after our customers.

“The safety of everyone who travels with us is always our absolute priority and we are working with the police and ambulance service to care for those who need it and understand the circumstances which led to this incident.”
