Liverpool information: Reds seal double deal as World Cup wonderkid set for Premier League switch
Liverpool have been linked with a World Cup wonderkid who is set to join the Premier League, as the Reds also confirm a double deal from Bournemouth
It’s set to be a make-or-break few weeks for Liverpool in the transfer market as Andoni Iraola looks to overhaul the squad after a lacklustre season. The Reds could only manage a fifth-place finish in the Premier League and failed to reach the semi-finals in any competition, leading to Arne Slot’s exit and Iraola’s appointment as the new boss.
The Spaniard has hit the ground running, snapping up highly-rated Osasuna winger Victor Munoz for £34million, and also bringing in French centre-back Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes for £55m, a deal that was sealed back in January but only became official on July 1.
However, with the departures of Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, and Mohamed Salah leaving significant gaps in the squad, more signings are expected. Sporting director Richard Hughes has reportedly made landing a new right winger a top priority – though his own future is uncertain amid growing speculation about a potential move to Saudi Arabia. Here, the Daily Star Sport looks at the latest developments at Anfield.

The World Cup has long been a launchpad for young talents to put themselves on the radar of top clubs. This summer’s tournament in North America has been no exception, with Liverpool reportedly among the clubs eyeing 17-year-old Mexican winger Gilberto Mora.
Following an outstanding performance at the World Cup, the Reds have set their sights on the youngster, according to reports. The young prodigy made headlines on Wednesday when he took to the pitch against Ecuador, becoming the second youngest player ever to start a World Cup knockout match, with only Brazilian legend Pele ahead of him.
As per De Telegraaf, the Club Tijuana whizz-kid is tipped for a Premier League move, with Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea all reportedly keen.
However, Liverpool might have to play the waiting game due to visa rules barring Mora from relocating to England until his 18th birthday in October.
“In six months, during the winter transfer window, Gilberto Mora is going to take off […] he’s going to be a Premier League,” TNT Sports’ Mexico correspondent Rodrigo Lara told AS Mexico. “I can’t say which team…Today, after the match against Ecuador and after the England game, things are going to move forward for Gilberto Mora. The information I have is that Gilberto Mora will play in the Premier League.”
Bournemouth seal double swoop
Liverpool has a history of poaching Southampton’s top stars, and it seems they’re now doing the same further down the south coast.
The Reds have already snapped up Iraola, Hughes and left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, and there’s strong speculation linking them with Brazilian striker Rayan. The influx from Dorset to Merseyside continues as the club announced that Cherries coaches Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper will join Iraola’s coaching team at Anfield.
The duo, both former Bournemouth players before transitioning into coaching roles, will join the ranks as first-team coaches following successful talks with their previous club. They’ll be working alongside assistant coach Pablo de la Torre and first-team tactical analyst Tom Weber, who were also part of Iraola’s team on the south coast.
