Girl, 5, left preventing for all times after main multi-vehicle crash with 4 others injured

Five people were left injured following a major car crash involving three vehicles, including a five-year-old girl who is currently fighting for her life after being airlifted to hospital

A five-year old-girl is fighting for her life in hospital following a serious multi-vehicle collision over the weekend.

The crash occurred on Sunday evening (July 5) on the A4067 near Craig-y-Nos, north of Ystradgynlais.

A total of five people sustained serious injuries in the incident with a young child also among the injured, who was airlifted to hospital.

Two individuals have been arrested as Dyfed-Powys Police contiue with their investigation into the collision, reports Wales Online.

A force spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information following a road traffic collision that occurred on the A4067, near Craig-y-Nos, at around 5.50pm on Sunday, July 5.

“The collision involved a green Ford Fiesta, a black Volkswagen Polo, and a grey Vauxhall Grandland. Five people were seriously injured during the collision and taken to hospital for treatment.

“This included a five-year-old that was taken to hospital by air ambulance with injuries believed to be life-threatening. The child remains in hospital in a stable condition.

“The driver of the green Ford Fiesta, a 39-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and child neglect. A yellow Ford Fiesta was later identified as being involved.

“The driver of this vehicle, a 65-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Both men remain in police custody.

“Anyone with information that could help officers with their investigation or anyone who was travelling along the road at the relevant time with dashcam footage is asked to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police either online, by emailing [email protected], or by calling 101, quoting reference: DP-20260703-277.”
