Music icon flies out to assist England in enormous World Cup conflict – however he is perhaps dangerous luck

Mick Jagger has flown out to Miami to back England in their huge World Cup quarter-final clash with Norway on Saturday night – but the Rolling Stones icon may be bad luck having watched the 2018 loss to Croatia

Rock hero Sir Mick Jagger has flown out to support England in the World Cup and has told the Daily Star he reckons the Three Lions will smash Erling Haaland’s Norway.

The Rolling Stones legend jetted out to Miami on Thursday to cheer on Harry Kane and the lads in person and admits he’s a “big fan” of the team, but trying not to get too ahead of himself as fans clamour for the first World Cup win since 1966.

Speaking at the launch of the new Stones album, Foreign Tongues in London the night before, Sir Mick said: “They’ve got a good chance but I’ll never say we’re going all the way!”

England face their own Beast Of Burden in the form of top striker Erling Haaland when they play Norway in the quarter finals on Saturday.

However, Mick is confident Kane and the lads have the experience to deal with his huge presence: “I think we’ve got players who know what he’s about.”

Sir Mick is praying he’s not a bad luck charm, though having previously witnessed the Three Lions lose 2-1 to Croatia at 2018 World Cup semi-final in Moscow.

He was also on hand to endure his beloved Arsenal unfortunately lose the Champions League final to PSG in Hungary a few weeks ago.

“You can’t blame me for Arsenal missing two penalties,” he laughed.

Sir Mick has become close to a number of England stars over the years including David Beckham who invited him to watch the Champions League final in his own box. But the rocker had no idea it was being documented for a show called Beckham & Friends Live.

“So they’re filming while the match is on, and asking me questions while Arsenal go on and score. So I felt obliged to cheer, that’s probably the most lad-ish I’ve ever got at a match.”

Football has become something Sir Mick enjoys sharing with his entire family, including sons James, 40, and most recent addition Deveraux, 9.
