Police hunt ‘white man in England shirt’ after girl ‘sexually assaulted’ in UK city

Police are searching for a white man wearing an England football shirt after a woman reported that she was sexually assaulted in a UK town.

Hampshire Police is appealing appealing for witnesses and information following a report of a sexual assault in Aldershot. Officers received a report that a woman in her 30s was approached by a man unknown to her on Alison’s Road at around 11.30pm on Saturday, July 11.

The man allegedly kissed the woman, pulled her hair and punched her in the chest. The woman said she was able to run away from the man and was later taken to hospital to receive treatment for a broken finger, concussion, bruising and scratches.

The man is described as being white, aged between 20 and 30, 6ft tall, of medium build with light brown hair. He was wearing a blue England football shirt.

Police assured the public that they are taking this report extremely seriously and there will be an increased police presence in the area as officers carry out enquiries.

Meanwhile, police have released images of a man they wish to identify following an alleged attempted rape on the Tube.

Detectives from the British Transport Police (BTP) reported that a man approached a woman travelling alone on a Bakerloo line train between Waterloo and Lambeth North in central London at approximately 11.40pm on Saturday.

The man is said to have indecently exposed himself to the woman before pulling her to the floor and attempting to rape her in the carriage, according to police officers. BTP stated that the woman resisted and escaped the train at Lambeth North before notifying station personnel.

The man remained on the train and disembarked at Elephant and Castle, the subsequent stop.

Officers have been tracing the man’s movements and suspect he was also present at Oxford Circus prior to the attack and Piccadilly Circus Underground station afterwards.

BTP Detective Sergeant Krishan Appannah commented: “Our officers are supporting the victim following this horrific incident. We understand incidents of this nature are deeply concerning for the public and we’re appealing to them directly to help us identify the man in the CCTV footage.

“One line of enquiry is that he may be homeless. We are asking anyone who recognises the man in the images to text us his name to 61016 quoting reference 948 of 11 July. He may have vital information that could assist our ongoing investigation.”
