Woman ‘raped in broad daylight’ at UK park rushed to hospital as police launch probe

A woman was rushed to hospital after reporting she had been raped in broad daylight at popular UK park.
Police discovered the woman who was injured at a Sandwell park in the West Midlands on Monday at around 10.15am. She was taken to hospital for assessments after reporting she had been raped.
The woman has been supported by specially trained officers since being discharged from the hospital. West Midlands Police is now appealing to any witnesses in Sandwell Valley Country Park from between 8am to 11am. Detective Inspector Phil Griffiths said: “In the last three weeks officers have been reviewing CCTV footage from around Sandwell Valley Country Park, examining forensic evidence, and speaking to anyone who may have vital information about what happened.

“Neighbourhood officers have been patrolling the area since the incident and specialist officers will be revisiting the park today to speak to anyone who may have information.
“We know the park would have been busy on a Monday morning with people enjoying the sunshine. We need to hear from you if you saw anything that was suspicious.“

Meanwhile, police are appealing for information after a woman reported to have been sexually assaulted inside a Wetherspoons pub.
Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify as part of the ongoing investigation. Cops said the alleged incident happened in Poole, Dorset, on July 11.
A man is alleged to have inappropriately touched a woman over her clothing while at the bar at The Blackwater Stream in Lower Blandford Road, Broadstone, at around 8.30pm.
Police Constable Billy Edwards said: “We have been carrying out detailed enquiries into this incident and I am now in a position to issue an image of a man we would like to identify as part of this investigation.
“I would urge anyone who recognises him to please make contact with us.”
