Meghan Markle slammed after main TV look – ‘she contributed completely nothing’
An apperance by the he Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, on Masterchef Australia has gone down very badly with industry experts, with the episode due to be shown in the UK in a few months time

Meghan Markle has been slammed for her appearance on one of the world’s most popular food programmes. The Duchess of Sussex made a guest appearance as a judge on the 18th series of Masterchef Australia on Sunday in Aus – set to be shown later this year in the UK –, where competitors were tasked with transforming a basic ingredient into a creation “fit for a duchess”.
The episode was recorded during Meghan and Harry’s week-long visit to Australia in April. Meghan featured alongside MasterChef Australia judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli.
And while the show is known for having top chefs and food-related guests on from around the world – like Gordon Ramsey, Jamie Oliver, Rick Stein and more – Meghan’s appearance has gone down like a lead balloon.
Her appearance has been slammed
One chef, Jameson Stocks, has told The News International that he was left questioning why she was even there in the first place.
He said: “When it comes to cooking, she contributes absolutely nothing – it’s all complete nonsense. Unless the contestants are somehow inspired by her sliced fruit, I honestly can’t understand why she’s there.
“She has absolutely zero credentials to be even near a stove never mind Masterchef – Masterchef is a program to inspire the next generation or inspire people to do better showcase themselves through food – she’s about as inspiring as a out of date chicken.”
He also launched a scathing attack on Meghan’s Netflix show“If her show has been nominated for an Emmy, I’d hate to see the competition. It is among the biggest loads of nonsense Netflix has ever produced – so embarrassing that it’s hard to believe they would pay her for it. It’s a horrendous, slow, lethargic, egotistical pile of trash”.
Nobody was quite sure why she was on the show
During the appearance, Meghan insisted that they use her non-Royal name, which was a direct response to issues suffered during their Royal tour.
According to several reports, Meghan was allegedly sensitive to claims that her Australian tour with Prince Harry back in April was seen as cashing in on their royal links.
She was reportedly “frustrated” with producers when she was described as “royalty” in a promo for Australia’s wildly popular reality TV show.
“Meghan and her team had ‘specifically’ made clear they did not want the word ‘royal’ used’, a source said at the time the promo was released, reports The Daily Mail.
After she introduced herself as “Meghan” on Sunday night’s show, she went on to gush about her love of Australia having first visited the country with her husband Prince Harry eight years ago.
