A military chopper has crashed in the United States with three people being taken to hospital.
The helicopter, reported to be a UH-72 Lakota, crashed near the city of Opp, Alabama on the afternoon of Monday, July 28. It was reportedly from US Army base Fort Rucker.
Officials say the crew was conducting routine flight training when the chopper was involved in an aviation mishap.
The helicopter crashed in a privately owned field on Cool Springs Road, Sheriff of Covington County, Blake Turman, confirmed.
There are no reports of injuries to anyone on the ground and no reported damage to property, officials said.
Sheriff Turman told WDHN news outlet that he does not believe anyone was injured.
An instructor pilot and two student pilots were on board the chopper at the time and were reported to be in a stable condition.
They were taken to a Dothan hospital for medical evaluation.
