Adam Ramsey-Peaty was comforted by pregnant wife Holly as he missed out on another Commonwealth Games gold medal. Ramsey-Peaty watched his golden dreams slip away once more with another bronze medal finish.
And he was comforted by his wife, Holly following his third-place podium result in the 50m breaststroke final at the Commonwealth Games. Expectant Holly was amongst the crowd in Glasgow to support her husband. But he had to make do with another bronze, mirroring his performance in the 100m breaststroke.
The pair were spotted embracing following the race, but they were both smiling – seemingly just happy to be there. Yet they appeared satisfied with the situation, with Holly beaming as her spouse caressed her expanding baby bump. She was also observed giving him a cuddle.
She was proud regardless

This comes as Adam, 31, revealed details about a challenging few years in the sport – and beyond his professional life. However he stated that all focus is now on what lies ahead and their expected child.
Speaking to TNT Sports following his latest performance in the pool, he acknowledged he had endured a difficult two years. He said circumstances had been “pretty tough to get that speed back” and admitted he will “have to learn this experience as a whole really”.
Adam told journalists: “I think for me just getting back to the enjoyment of racing. I’ve really enjoyed tonight. I made a few errors but you can train the hardest in the world and you can work the hardest in the world but it doesn’t really matter unless you’re race polished and I’m not.”
He added: “I’m not going to be too hard on myself because I’m incredibly proud of the journey I’ve been on my whole career. Even in this room, 12 years ago I’m a different man, well, I wasn’t even a man then.
“Now look at me I’ve got nearly a six year old and a daughter on the way in December so it’s all in perspective and sometimes I think the hard times are more important than the good. “.
“It took a lot of courage to get back into the sport, so we should be happy with everything we get, but then that contradicts the athlete inside me and what I work for.
“I just think I deserve more. I know sport isn’t about what you deserve or even what you work for – it’s who gets it on the day. I just know I’m a better athlete than that. It’s very disappointing.”
