George Russell proposes to Carmen Montero Mundt as emotional engagement footage shared
Mercedes driver George Russell has announced his engagement to long-term partner Carmen Montero Mundt, with the couple sharing a series of adorable snaps on social media

George Russell and long-term partner Carmen Montero Mundt have announced they are engaged. The Mercedes Formula 1 star confirmed the news in a heartfelt joint social media post on Sunday.
Russell and Mundt posted a ring emoji and a silver heart emoji, along with four photos capturing the special moment. In the first snap, Mundt was all smiles while Russell kissed her on the lips.
The second image saw Mundt posing with the ring and Russell sat on a table in the background. The third photo featured Mundt with her back to the camera against a seafront backdrop, while the fourth showcased a light show.

Fans, including Manchester City footballer Jack Grealish, were quick to send their congratulations to the couple, who first met in London in 2019 and have been officially dating since 2020.
“Congrats brother,” Grealish commented, accompanied by a blue love heart emoji. Another wrote: “My fav driver couple finally makes the next step ahhh. Congrats to both of you! ! the ring looks so special.”
A third chimed in: “Congrats guys…wonderful news.
“Congratsss George & Carmen! ! So happy for you both,” added a fourth.
A fifth continued: “I’M ACTUALLY CRYINGGGG I LOVE THISSS AHHHH.”
A sixth said: “WE FINALLY GOT THE ENGAGEMENT POST! ! I’m crying real tears, look at how happy they are.”
Meanwhile, the official F1 account chimed in: “Congratulations to you both!”.
Russell and Mundt represent the most recent F1 pair to become engaged, following Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who tied the knot with Alexandra Saint Mleux in February, after revealing their engagement towards the end of 2025.
Mundt, who works in the finance sector, boasts more than 900,000 Instagram followers.
Russell, meanwhile, commands more than NINE million followers and sits third in this season’s F1 Drivers’ Championship, trailing Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli by 59 points and nine points behind Lewis Hamilton.
When asked about the 2026 F1 campaign thus far, following last month’s Hungarian Grand Prix, Russell said: “It’s just been a bit of a rollercoaster, you know. It’s really not been a smooth season whatsoever. I don’t really have a mindset – just try and forget about racing for a bit, and try and come back stronger.”
