Unearthed NASA picture reveals mysterious ‘jellyfish creature’ shifting throughout Mars
A bizarre image that appears to show a strange ‘jellyfish’ style creature has set tongues wagging in the UFO community, but experts have warned that the strange object is not as it seems

An unearthed NASA photograph appears to show a to a strange, tentacle-possessing creature which has been likened to a jelly fish.
The image, which came from NASA’s iconic Curiosity rover, was taken back in August 2023 and shows a stunning view of Mars’s rocky surface and huge, rolling mountains. But social media users spotted a strange object just before the horizon.
The image in question was posted by X user Kari Sivertzen, who did not offer any interpretation of what the snap depicted. However, users in the comments were less restrained, with one user writing: “It’s the tentacle monster from the war of the worlds.”

Another user posted: “That’s the same jellyfish object seen flying in many countries over the last few years . Clearly it’s the same and it’s intelligent alien life.”
Other users claimed that the object could be a camera or another spacecraft. One wrote: “Could it be a helicopter?”
Another postured: “Looks like a tower or some type of structure, a dome on top or a relic from mars distant past civilisation, there are ruins etc all over mars, as seen in many many photos when mars had life earth was not habitable.”

Many were not so convinced, with several users correctly pointed out that the viral image of X may have been digitally enhanced, making the shady object in the background look more defined than it really was on NASA’s site.
As one explained: “The picture you’re displaying is not the original image. You’ve zoomed into the original, cropped out that frame, and posted that instead. The problem, as I’ve mentioned before, is that when you do this using conventional photo software, interpolation is applied automatically.
Interpolation is a smoothing process that makes assumptions about pixels that are not actually true. It’s a visual trick used to convince the eye that a zoomed image is smooth rather than pixelated.”

The speculation comes amid a flurry of UFO sightings and gossip following the release of the so-called UFO files, which saw hundreds of previously classified images released into the public domain and attracting a stampede of alien hunters to pour through them.
