BREAKING Kenya helicopter crash as vacationer chopper ‘carrying 7’ plummets with all feared lifeless
A helicopter believed to be carrying seven people has crashed in northern Kenya, with locals and rescue teams said to be heading towards the scene where smoke and fire has been spotted

Seven people are feared dead after a tourist helicopter they were flying in crashed in Kenya.
The nationalities of the people in the horror chopper crash have not yet been established, according to a preliminary police report cited by Kenyan newspaper The Star. Local residents and rescue teams were said to be heading towards the scene, where smoke and fire has been spotted following the crash.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority said the helicopter had been travelling towards the Ewaso Nyiro river, which runs through the Samburu National Reserve. The helicopter crashed near Lolokwe Mountain in Samburu County, northern Kenya, which is around 217 miles from Kenya’s capital Nairobi, at around 9.13am local time on Wednesday.

Local media reports that the helicopter was operated by local safari company Tropic Air and crashed in the foothills Mt Ololokwe. The area is known for its rugged terrain, which could potentially thwart the operation.
The authority hasn’t confirmed how many people were on board or whether they were tourists, and details surrounding any casualties remain unclear. The aircraft was a Eurocopter EC130 B4, registration 5Y-GYM.
