York Ebor Festival day two prime bets from tipster who had two winners on day one
The fillies take centre stage on day two of the York Ebor Festival in the Legends Global Yorkshire Oaks.
The older and more streetwise Kalpana and Minnie Hauk take on a group of upwardly mobile three-year-olds. They include Irish Oaks heroine Johanna Walsh and Royal Ascot winner Earth Shot. Our Chief Tipster Jason Heavey gives his race-by-race guide for day two after tipping two winners on day one – Air Force One at 13-2 and his each-way selection Henley-On-Thames also won (4-1). His each-way fancy in the Juddmonte International, Almaqam, was also a 14-1 second, while his each-way pick in the second race, Gentle Hurricane, which went off at 7/2, came second too.
Jason is one of the country’s leading newspaper tipsters. In 2023 he did the rare double of winning both national tipping titles – the Racing Post Press Challenge and also the coveted Racing Post Naps Table. He is currently the leading “red-top” tipster in the country in the National Press Challenge table.

MISS KODI is a sporting punt to win a fiercely competitive renewal of this Group Two race for juvenile fillies.
Clive Cox prepared the daughter of Kodi Bear to score by seven lengths on her debut at Chepstow and then pitched her into a Group Three race at Ascot.
Miss Kodi was not disgraced after showing some greenness and stayed on well to be a close fifth behind Moonrise. I can’t ignore her 40-1 odds and with Rossa Ryan in the saddle she could make a mockery of her price.
Moonrise has very strong claims herself and also looks too big in the betting at 12-1 under Oisin Murphy. Royal Ascot winner Libertango is the warm favourite but is plenty short enough in the market.
Ger Lyons’ Livenka is also popular and has won her last two in Ireland, while Star Of State bolted up in a maiden by nine lengths for Joseph O’Brien but the form has not worked out.
TIP: MISS KODI
Each-way: Livenka

SATELLITE OF LOVE is a value option to oppose the odds-on favourite Sun Goddess and give Clive Cox and Rossa Ryan a double.
The son of Minzaal has won both his starts, at Windsor and Newbury, and the form of the latter is strong. He beat Agrippa, who subsequently won at Glorious Goodwood, while conceding weight with the pair pulling nicely clear.
Sun Goddess should win if she brings her A-game. Aidan O’Brien’s filly has won three of her five races and was second to Libertango in the Albany at Ascot but her short price makes no appeal.
She could have gone for the Lowther but her owners have their eye on this £293,000 first prize. Amy Murphy’s Tokaido has won four races in France but has to concede weight all round.
The Bookkeeper is worth an each-way tickle at any price you like. He ran well at Goodwood and the drop to six furlongs may see him to best effect.
TIP: SATELLITE OF LOVE
Each-way: The Bookkeeper

BULLET POINT can fire in another winner for William Haggas and Tom Marquand.
The five-year-old won this race 12 months ago and is only 1lb higher in the handicap this time. He put a couple of moderate early season efforts behind him with a good second at Ascot on Shergar Cup day and should step forward at a track he likes.
In what is a cracking betting race, Point Lynas has given great service to Ed Bethell and his owners and despite top weight could run into a place under Callum Rodriguez.
The lightly raced Centigrade could be a handicap snip for Ralph Beckett. He has won two of his three career starts and has been hammered in the betting into a short price favourite.
Mezcala won at Royal Ascot but failed to produce his form on King George day. If he can rediscover his mojo he would be in the shake-up.
TIP: BULLET POINT
Each-way: Point Lynas

JOHANNA WALSH can slay her older counterparts in a terrific renewal of this Group One prize.
Joseph O’Brien’s filly was an imposing winner of the Irish Oaks at the Curragh when she travelled supremely well before quickening clear of Inis Mor by four lengths.
It was ample compensation for her narrow defeat in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot when chinned by Earth Shot. This is her stiffest test on just her sixth start and she comes up against the five-year-old Kalpana and four-year-old Minnie Hauk.
Kalpana was a tenacious winner of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes last month where Minnie Hauk trailed in her wake. That was a hard race for them both and they may well be vulnerable to the younger filly especially as there is a 9lb weight difference.
Saying that… Minnie Hauk won this race last year and will be hard to beat if recapturing her very best. She may have had excuses in the King George as she went off too quickly near the pace.
Inis Mor and Earth Shot are back for more and both have place prospects.
Tattycoram won the Lancashire Oaks from Tiffany, who recently snared a Group One race in France, and rates an each-way play.
TIP: JOHANNA WALSH
Each-way: Tattycoram

WITHOUT PREJUDICE is chanced to shrug off her inexperience on just a second start and claim this Listed prize.
John and Thady Gosden’s daughter of Starman, who cost Lord Lloyd Webber 240,000 guineas, made an impressive winning debut at Newmarket just 20 days ago. She is thrown in at the deep end here but Will Buick gets the leg-up and she has attracted steady market support.
In a wide open race, there are good reasons to fear her more experienced stablemate Morrophore and Ryan Moore who has been absent since early in the year.
A La Prochaine, Rhapsody and Vauntingly have claims while each-way players also have plenty to go at.
K Sarra was third in the Musidora Stakes at the track in May and she could outrun her 33-1 price.
TIP: WITHOUT PREJUDICE
Each-way: K Sarra

MIRZIMAAN (Nap) can prove Billy Loughnane wrong in this helter skelter of a handicap.
The young rider could have ridden George Boughey’s beast but has opted for stablemate Perfect Nation. So William Buick comes in for the ride on the son of Mohaather.
Mirzimaan fluffed his lines on his debut but left that behind with a 20-1 success at Newbury.
He would have won again at Newcastle but found severe trouble in running and had to settle for second. He looks well handicapped and from a nice draw also appears overpriced at 12-1.
Perfect Nation, Goodwood winner Revels and Ed Bethell’s Weleyff are major contenders, while Rising Tiger has been well found in the betting.
At bigger prices Bymiddaytomorrow appeals after winning his last two and 18-1 is a good place punt.
TIP: MIRZIMAAN (Nap)
Each-way: Bymiddaytomorrow
5.20 British EBF Fillies’ Handicap
ZOOELLA is tipped to land the lucky last under Silvestre de Sousa.
He comes in for the ride as Rossa Ryan is unable to make the weight (8st 2lb) on Ralph Beckett’s filly who has won both her starts this season.
A smooth win at Lingfield was followed by a tenacious success at Thirsk when she hit the line very strongly. There is clearly more to come and she could be a step ahead of the handicapper.
Tryst is a strong fancy after having won her last two contests while the same applies to Carnival Of Light, who is also on a hat-trick.
Starlight Lass heads the betting and looks potentially well treated for the Gosdens, while Albaydaa is another towards the head of the market.
Secret History has done little wrong and is another one for the places at 11-1.
TIP: ZOOELLA
Each-way: Tryst
