A three year old boy is battling for his life in hospital after plunging from a window in Rochdale.

Emergency crews rushed to Spotland Tops, in the Cutgate area of the town, shortly after 4:15pm this afternoon (Saturday, August 22), reports the Manchester Evening News.

Both police and paramedics attended the incident on the residential estate.

The air ambulance was seen touching down in the vicinity.

The Manchester Evening News understands a three year old boy tumbled from a window on the first-floor of a property. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed a child was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

A force spokesperson said: “We were called today (22 August 2026) at around 4.16pm to reports for the concern of the welfare of a child on Spotland Tops, Rochdale.

“Emergency services attended and the child was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains in a critical condition.
