Kidnap sufferer leaps for freedom after being overwhelmed and humiliated by merciless gang in home
The vulnerable victim had been lured to an address, then beaten, tortured and bundled into a pickup truck before being taken to another home by a gang of five thugs, who have all been jailed
A kidnap victim is seen jumping from a first floor window in a desperate bid for freedom – before armed cops swoop to arrest his captors. Dramatic footage captured the man leaping into a tree from a house in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire.
The vulnerable victim then runs into the road and flags down a passing police car and tells officers of his horror ordeal at the hands of a gang of five thugs who had held him captive and beat him throughout the day.
He was subjected to abuse and humiliation at the hands of Brad’Lee Ranyard, Nathan Gladwell, Jackson Nicholson, Craig Ranyard and Danielle Thompson, police said.

They lured the victim to a house in the town on July 4, 2025, and held him against his will. They repeatedly assaulted, threatened, humiliated and tormented the man and filmed the horror ordeal on their mobile phones and laughed as it unfolded.
The victim was then bundled into the back of a pickup truck the following day where he was forced to sit between Ranyard and Nicholson. He was driven to a second address, where he was again held against his will.
CCTV footage shows the vehicle parking outside the address in Portland Street at 7.30am. Ranyard and Nicholson then ushered the victim into the property. Video released by police shows him mounting a desperate escape at 11.23am.

After the daring escape, two of the suspects were seen leaving the flat before returning with a duffel bag. They then leave the property again and get into a pickup truck parked nearby.
Armed cops leap from their vehicle when the pickup pulls over and point their guns at the two suspects, who hold their hands up. The pair are ordered to stand still and are cuffed by the responding cops.
Three other suspects were arrested later the same evening at an address in Market Rasen, police said. All five appeared at Lincoln Crown Court to be sentenced for their roles in the kidnap.

The court heard that the victim had been subjected to the harrowing ordeal following the breakdown of a past relationship. Brad’Lee Ranyard, 20, and Nicholson, 25, were jailed for nine years after being convicted of kidnap and pleading guilty to false imprisonment.
Craig Ranyard, 42, was sentenced to five years and three months’ imprisonment after being convicted of false imprisonment. Thompson, 38, was sentenced to four years and nine months’ imprisonment after being convicted of false imprisonment.
Gladwell, 36, was sentenced to three years and seven months’ imprisonment after being convicted of false imprisonment. The five thugs were also handed an indefinite restraining order preventing them from contacting the victim or members of his family.

Detective constable Liam Henderson of Lincolnshire Police, said: “This was a sustained and deeply distressing ordeal in which a man was subjected to violence, threats and humiliation at the hands of people who appeared to find amusement in his suffering.
“The victim showed remarkable courage in seizing the opportunity to escape. The CCTV footage captures a desperate moment in which he quite literally risked everything to get away from those holding him captive.
“By sheer chance, as he fled from the property, a marked police vehicle entered the street. That moment changed the course of events and allowed officers to get him to safety when he needed help most.”
