Liverpool have confirmed a new signing while one player who chose to leave the Premier League titans has spoken over his regret about the transfer

Liverpool got back to winning ways with a thrilling 3-1 victory over Tottenham in the Carabao Cup and they have also been making moves off the pitch.
Stunning goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai plus a great effort from Cody Gakpo were enough for Andoni Iraola’s Reds to triumph over Roberto De Zerbi’s visitors, who clawed the scoreline back to 2-1 in the second half only to have their hopes dashed by Szoboszlai’s incredible late volley.
Now Iraola turns his attention to a return to his old club Bournemouth at the weekend, where a win on the south coast could cap off an encouraging start to his time at Liverpool before the international break. But he’s not the only person making a return this week as there’s also transfer talk coming out of Merseyside. Here’s all the latest news from Anfield.

Farkas seals Anfield comeback
Hungarian prodigy Patrik Farkas has returned to Liverpool for a second spell, the club has confirmed.
Farkas spent a year in the Reds’ academy before moving to Blackburn in 2022 and will now join the Reds’ Under-21 squad, reports the Mirror.
“It’s a dream come true to sign here, I’m really happy and just excited to get started,” said the midfielder, whose brother Erik plays for Liverpool’s Under-18s.
“I’m enjoying being back at Liverpool, there are some new faces but it’s good to meet everyone and also see lots of old friends as well.
“I’m a technical player, a box-to-box player who can play in multiple positions and try to make things happen. The coaches have just asked me to excite them, to get playing, be confident and show them what I can do.
“From there anything can happen. Work hard and take the next step from there.”
Luis Alberto’s departure disappointment
Luis Alberto didn’t get many chances at Liverpool
Former Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto reckons he may have been too hasty in his departure from the club.
The Spaniard was brought in by Brendan Rodgers at the age of 20 but managed just 12 outings and departed for Lazio following two loan stints during his three years at Anfield.
His most memorable contribution was an assist for Luis Suarez in the 5-0 away demolition of Tottenham at White Hart Lane in December 2013.
“I came to England because of Brendan Rodgers,” the 33-year-old told ABC. “I knew it wasn’t going to be easy; going from Barcelona B to Liverpool was a big change, and that was to be expected. I trained, did what they asked of me, and got a few games and some playing time.
“I always say I made a mistake by not accepting reality. I should have stayed longer, even if it would have taken me some time to break into the plans, I wasn’t patient enough, and I left the following year.”
Having joined Lazio for around £3.5m, Alberto went on to prove his credentials, spending eight seasons in Serie A while totalling 307 appearances and 52 goals, winning two Supercoppa Italiana and the 2019 Coppa Italia.
