Someone else
My girlfriend of a year has started wearing sexy underwear and buying a lot of expensive make-up.
I’m terrified that she’s sleeping with someone else…
We’ve not had sex for many weeks. If I attempt to touch her, she accuses me of being too rough.
The last time we were intimate (on holiday in Ibiza in July) she blurted out that I’m the most boring man she’s ever been to bed with. She accused me of having no imagination and no sex appeal. With that she went out, got drunk and didn’t return to our hotel for 24 hours. I still don’t know where she went or who she was with. Another fella, I suspect….
These days her phone is always in her hand. Any time it buzzes she leaves the room. If I ask who is calling, she snaps: “Work” or “dentist”. Recently, during a trip to the beach she kept walking off.
I could see her talking into her hand piece. Yet, when I quizzed her, she claimed that she was being plagued by wrong numbers. What’s going on?
JANE SAYS: Your girl is acting strangely, and you need to find out why. Start off by giving her the benefit of the doubt because she could be planning a surprise party, applying for a new job, or dealing with a worrying health problem. Keep your cool and ask for a chat. Is there anything she’d like to tell you, or you could help with?
What really went on during those missing hours on your holiday?
Do the new items of underwear mean something?
Who is she really talking to?
Hopefully she’ll be able to put your mind at rest. But, if there’s another lover or she’ll fallen out of lust with you, then you’re entitled to the truth so that you can brush yourself off and consider your future.
Selfish parents
My partner and I want a baby, but my selfish parents refuse to give us funding for fertility treatment because they disapprove of our lifestyle.
They say that we’ve wasted too much cash on travelling and clubbing and should have saved up. This is unfair.
They have money in the bank that they should be spreading around. My sister was given £10,000 for her wedding and split up with her horrible husband just six months later.
My brother got £7,000 out of them for a ‘business deal’ that turned out to be a con. It’s not my fault that I’m the youngest and that they’ve had their fingers burnt, is it?
JANE SAYS: It’s frustrating that your parents aren’t prepared to top-up your funds, but they’re under no obligation to give you a penny, so don’t be tempted to fall out with them over this.
If you and your partner need money for fertility treatment, then change your lifestyle, start saving and researching your options. Would you be eligible for NHS funding? Speak to your GP and check out your options.
Maybe your parents will be more impressed, and more likely to meet you halfway, if they can see that you’re serious about living a different kind of life.
I wish you well but do be prepared for the possibility of many challenges along the way.
