‘Gorgeous’ presenter lets followers in on secret and shares what ‘cool women like’
A “gorgeous” sports presenter has let fans in on her secret as she shared what “cool girls like” in a social media post.
Katie Shanahan, who has hosted coverage of snooker and the World Cup this year, was back at the baize as she shared some pictures from behind the scenes: “A week full of new venues, new faces and the same love for the game!”
The presenter, 34, added: “Cool girls like snooker!” Shanahan echoed the sentiment, sharing a series of images overlaid with messages from cool girls being “proud to be part of the snooker world” to “holding their own on a panel”.

She then shared a behind-the-scenes picture from a Channel 5 broadcast, showing her chatting to fellow pundits. Other snaps showed her speaking to Judd Trump, while another captured her “staying sharp” on air.
But Shanahan also gave fans a glimpse of her more relaxed side, sharing pictures of herself letting her hair down as she learned “how to enjoy the moment” and make “it look effortless”.
It has been quite the year for Shananhan, who was named as the new snooker presenter on Channel 5’s broadcast of the Players Championship, Tour Championship and British Open earlier this year, after they acquired the rights for the sport.

Ahead of her snooker debut, she said: “I’m here, there and everywhere. I’m mainly with ITV, Sky Sports and talkSPORT now and I’ve spent seven years at the BBC. I would probably say I’m a multi-sport presenter. It’s been heavily football, but I love all sport.
“I’ve covered five major football tournaments, two Olympic Games, one Winter Olympics and the Commonwealth Games. I’ve covered rugby, NFL, a Women’s Cricket World Cup final at Lords.
“I can’t wait to get stuck into the snooker next.” And fans were quick to point out just how much they loved her work: “Coverage has been amazing from start to finish. Viewing figures going great. It’s not work when you’re having fun. Keep smashing it,” one fan said.

“I thought the half hour of build up to the matches was going to be difficult but you carried it off…by far the best presentation,” a second said. As a third replied: “You look gorgeous!”
Another added: “You and the rest of the presenters were absolutely fantastic all week. I really enjoy this new era on Channel 5… You have been a fabulous addition to the Snooker coverage!”
She certainly caught the eye with her expertise at the baize, when, over the summer, she landed her dream role with Fox Sports for the World Cup.

And that would lead to another opportunity with talkSPORT: “Some exciting news to share with you all…I’ll be hosting Early Sports Breakfast in a regular slot of Mon, Tues & Wed!”
Fans can now tune into talkSPORT before 5am and 6am to listen to her voice on the waves. “My favourite station! If I text in will you read my hot takes on Forest,” one fan joked.
While a second said: “Great news you did such a great job on Fox’s world cup coverage. Was wondering where we could hear your thoughts going forward!”
