A 33-year-old man who met a female gamer online broke into her Tokyo flat more than 100 times, stole her underwear and planted a spy cam disguised as a USB charger, a court heard

A pervert broke into a woman’s home more than 100 times, planted hidden spy cams and even “upgraded” her underwear after meeting her through an online game.
Jun Okada, 33, was convicted of unlawful entry, theft, and the sexual exploitation and filming of the victim after a 14-month campaign of stalking that turned her own flat into a crime scene.
Tokyo District Court handed Okada a two-years-and-six-months prison sentence on September 24, but suspended it for four years – meaning he will avoid jail if he stays out of trouble during the probation period. The court in Tokyo, Japan, heard how Okada first met the woman, described as a female gamer, through an online video game in July 2023.

They later met in person, but when he made a romantic advance she rejected him. Prosecutors said he then stole her physical key without her noticing, made a duplicate, and returned the original – giving himself secret access to her Tokyo apartment.
Between August 2023 and October 2024, Okada allegedly entered the flat more than 100 times, targeting moments he knew she was out at work or away, Tokyo Reporter reported. Inside, he would sit around for up to two hours at a time, eat her food, rummage through personal documents and even masturbate in her bedroom, the court was told.
According to prosecutors, Okada broke in repeatedly and stole the woman’s underwear and three expired driver’s licences, telling the court he wanted to see how her face had changed over time. He also photographed her valid ID – but claimed he didn’t take it because “she would be in trouble if it was gone.”

In one of the most chilling details, the court heard Okada planted a spy camera disguised as a working USB phone charger in the woman’s living room, filming her without her knowledge. He then allegedly returned again and again simply to swap the SD memory cards so he could watch the footage at home.
Okada insisted his actions were twisted “help”. “I had a desire to be of use to her,” he told the court, claiming he sometimes cleaned her apartment and restocked her fridge with energy drinks.
In a statement read aloud in court, the victim said: “It was creepy and gave me goosebumps. It is terrifying that he tried to grasp everything about my life.

“I demand severe punishment for the culprit.” The woman eventually spotted the strange USB charger plug, inspected it and discovered a hidden lens and SD card, then went to police.
Officers set up a sting and arrested Okada when he returned to swap the memory card. Okada’s father told the court he had paid 2.5 million yen in settlement money to the victim and pleaded for his son’s future.
He said: “I want him to become financially independent. I don’t want him falling into poverty and committing another crime.”
Asked for final words, Okada told the judge: “I know I am forbidden from contacting her, but if there is any way to convey it, I want to apologise. I am truly sorry.”
