Grinning Andy Burnham and Angela Rayner have fun at Mirror Party after PM’s speech

Andy Burnham joined delegates at the famous Mirror Party at Labour Party Conference on Tuesday night, where he was pictured grinning alongside the Mirror Chicken

After a triumphant conference speech yesterday, a grinning Andy Burnham put in an appearance at the famous Mirror Party.

The Prime Minister, pint of Guinness in hand, was pictured chatting to the Mirror Chicken – often a scourge of famous politicians – at the event, which saw MPs, advisors and journalists let their hair down.

The party has been a big part of Labour conferences over the years. Revellers were treated to Chief Secretary to the Treasury Emma Reynolds singing Twist and Shout and Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander belting out Abba’s Waterloo.

Labour mayors Tracy Brabin and Bev Craig stepped up to the mic to perform Sweet Caroline, while The Mirror’s Lizzy Buchan, Mikey Smith and Sophie Huskisson showed off their musical talents.
