Man, 38, stole intercourse employee’s purse earlier than driving off ‘along with her connected to automobile’

A bloke has pleaded guilty to stealing an escort’s handbag before driving dangerously down a busy city centre street. Adnaan Yassain, 38, pinched a large black Balis and Harding bag, a court was told.

Inside were clothes, an iPhone 11, a purse containing bank cards and £300 in cash. He snatched it after meeting Victoria Holcombe on September 27, 2022, BirminghamLive reports.

The victim previously said she chased Yassain down the street in Birmingham city centre to retrieve her bag. But he was already in a car. She said that she put her arm through the open car window in an attempt to seize back her handbag.

But she said he “sped off with me attached to the car, dragging me about 100 yards”. Ms Holcombe said that she was left with injuries to her face as she struck the pavement during the incident.

Yassain was initially charged with robbery, but entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of theft and dangerous driving on the first day of his trial at Birmingham Crown Court last Monday (October 12).

A pre-sentence report was ordered ahead of sentencing on December 14. Yassain was released on unconditional bail to attend the sentencing hearing.
