Award-winning horse tipster’s greatest bets for Virgin Bet November and past

In his regular column, Daily Star Chief Tipster Jason Heavey marks your card for the weekend racing and beyond. Jason is one of the country’s leading newspaper tipsters.

In 2023 he did the rare double of winning both national tipping titles – the Racing Post Press Challenge and also the coveted Racing Post Naps Table. Jason is currently the leading “red-top” tipster in the country in the National Press Challenge table.

Keep the speedy MONTASSIB (2.10) on side at Doncaster on Saturday. The final day of the flat turf season takes place on Town Moor and, as ever, conditions will be fairly testing.

That won’t bother William Haggas’ eight-year-old in the Listed Wentworth Stakes. He arrives fresh after a light campaign and 7-1 (best price at the time of writing) represents good value for a classy horse who has his optimum conditions.

NOBODY KNOWS (3.25) is hard to get away from in the Virgin Bet November Handicap. He is 4-1 – not a great price in such a big field – but Ryan Moore may want to right a wrong after the horse found plenty of trouble and got too far back on his last start at York.

Aintree stages an excellent card with a couple of big races being transferred from drought-hit Wincanton. I’ll be disappointed if MYDADDYPADDY (1.45) fails to win the William Hill Molyneux Hurdle for Dan Skelton – he could be a Champion Hurdle contender.

Similarly, NO DRAMA THIS END (2.25) makes his chasing debut in the Boodles Rising Stars Novices’ Chase and should get the job done.

However both those exciting prospects are shorties in the market so from a punting angle THE EGYPTIAN GINGE (3.00) is recommended in the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle, a much better betting race.

He is best priced 8-1 and has been impeccable in winning both his races this season. SANS BRUIT (1.15) loves Aintree and the ground is right for him in the two-mile chase, although in the same race BALLYBREEZE is worth an each-day saver. Both will like the good ground.

Future winners

ROCHEVAL: I put this one up in a previous column and he almost delivered at Newcastle last week until lack of fitness told. He should win next time.

BLUES SINGER: Was formerly a good bumper horse and he looks on a decent handicap mark of 117. Entered up next week.

THE G WIZARD: Bolted up at Ayr last weekend and has gone up 5lb in the weights which is fair. Has an interesting entry in a valuable handicap on Betfair Chase day – if he sneaks into the race.
