The stunning map of Britain that reveals the true scale of intercourse crimes by unlawful migrants

The case of two teenage Afghan asylum seekers jailed for raping a 15-year-old British schoolgirl shocked the nation in recent days.

But the attack, by small-boat migrants Jan Jahanzeb and Israr Niazal in a park in Leamington Spa, also shone a spotlight on the increasingly lawless state of our asylum system.

The gang rape by the two 17-year-olds was merely the latest in a long line of sex crimes committed by those migrants who have entered Britain illegally in ever-increasing numbers often in small boats.

Now the Daily Mail has compiled the most comprehensive study of such incidents yet attempted, combing the records of Crown and Magistrates’ Courts around the UK to document the vast number who have committed sexual offences.

Hailing from a multitude of nations, the 59 men we name today have shown contempt for British hospitality and values in the basest possible way.

Having arrived from home nations as far-flung as the South Pacific or sub-Saharan Africa, they claimed asylum here, most after having slipped into the country illegally by small boat or by hiding in a lorry.

Telling stories of fleeing danger and persecution, they argued that they should be accepted by Britain – only to quickly commit offences including paedophilia, rape and sexual assaults.

The data published by the Daily Mail today documents every known case of this kind to have happened over the last three years.

 

And it demonstrates starkly that these offenders and their trail of misery are spread all around the country, with bigger cities and towns particularly bearing the brunt of their criminal behaviour.

Richard Tice, Deputy Leader of Reform UK, claimed that the figures could be even higher as the immigration status of defendants is only revealed after conviction.

He said: ‘The British people are furious with the police and the authorities for this deliberate covering up. There is no question that the figures are even higher. We need full transparency and all these foreign criminals should be deported immediately after their conviction.

‘Why should the British taxpayer be funding their stay in prison? If they are sent back to Afghanistan or wherever they come from, it’s not our problem.’

Mr Tice pointed to the Leamington Spa case, saying ‘At first the authorities just said it was carried out by two 17-year-old boys. Vital information is being suppressed.’

He added: ‘Many of these migrants come from countries where women and girls are treated as second-class citizens and there is deep misogyny. It’s part of their culture.

‘The safety of British women and girls is at risk. There’s a cauldron of rage bubbling throughout the country over this. There’s no doubt that certain cultures are more prone to carrying out sexual assaults.

‘All foreign criminals should be immediately deported. It needs to be made clear: don’t break into our country and don’t assault, rape or leer at British women.’

Last week the Daily Mail revealed how people smuggling gangs are using footage of innocent young British women to encourage men from North Africa and the Middle East who might be attracted to them to attempt to sneak into the UK.

Referring to the social media pages set up by people smugglers featuring young British women to entice asylum seekers to the UK and linking them to sex offences carried out by migrants, Sarah Vine wrote on Tuesday in the Daily Mail: ‘These sex attacks are all part of the same pattern.

‘They come from a clash of values and from an inherent weakness on the part of Western liberal democracies in the face of behaviour which can only be described as predatory and barbaric.

‘They are taking us for fools. And if you don’t believe me, just look at social media: it’s full of male migrants boasting that they can come here and have their pick not only of all the economic benefits this country has to offer but also avail themselves of our girls and women. Is it any wonder they are showing up in their droves?’

And our investigation shows how this mindset can play out once they are on UK soil – with documented cases of predatory behaviour by migrants prowling the streets at night for sexual victims.

Fawaz Alsamaou, 34, a Syrian refugee living in Huddersfield, followed a young woman home after she left a nightclub in Cardiff at 4am.

As she passed under a dark railway bridge he grabbed her by the throat and groped her with his other hand. He was given 37 months in May 2024.

In the same month, small boat migrant Dan Tesfalul, 28, from Eritrea, followed a young woman as she left a nightclub in Norwich before raping her in a car park.

He was jailed for eight years and three months in May 2024, seven months after having been granted leave to remain in Britain.

More than 140,000 migrants, many undocumented, have crossed the Channel on small traffickers’ boats alone in the past five years, around 92 per cent of whom claimed asylum. Others have arrived hidden in vehicles and at airports.

Last month another grim milestone was passed as the 10,000th small boat migrant arrived since Shabana Mahmood became Home Secretary — more quickly than under any of her predecessors since 2022.

This year’s total of arrivals teeters close to 40,000 and has fuelled an urgent debate on immigration and left Sir Keir Starmer’s government split down the middle as it struggles to contain the huge numbers arriving on our shores.

While some on the right have quoted now-debunked statistics about Afghan asylum seekers being ’22 times more likely to commit sex crimes’, at the same time the genuine fears of ordinary Britons have been dismissed as ‘racism’.

Our interactive map of Britain, compiled as part of a Daily Mail investigation, gives a disturbing snapshot of how widespread the problem of sex attacks by migrants has become in recent years.

Our list does not claim to be comprehensive or seek to be inflammatory. Many migrants have come to the UK and made new lives here, contributing to the nation. And of course, there is still no shortage of British-born rapists and sex attackers.

But even liberal analysts have been forced to admit that some groups of asylum seekers and foreign-born nationals do figure disproportionately in the ranks of offenders in recent years, even if they cannot agree on the extent.

Comparing offender rates between different nationalities is fraught with difficulties because of the lack of accurate population figures for migrant groups.

The data is also likely to be skewed because migrants are far more likely be young and male, so a comparison against the total UK adult male population, which includes the elderly, is not valid.

Yet on a recent edition of BBC Radio 4’s More or Less, migration expert Madeleine Sumption agreed with presenter Tim Harford when he asked: ‘So what I’m hearing is that the 22 times claim is pretty questionable, but it’s not unreasonable to suggest that the rate of conviction for Afghan nationals is a lot higher than the rate of conviction for British nationals?’

Ms Sumption, director of Oxford University’s Migration Observatory, which advises the Government, replied: ‘I think that’s right. Because the number of Afghan convictions are quite small… it’s going to be very sensitive to even small inaccuracy in the measurement of that overall population.’

The arrest in July of Hadush Kebatu, from Ethiopia, triggered a summer of protests in many towns and cities where asylum seekers were being housed in hotels.

And his case presents a microcosm of the farcical and broken asylum system currently in operation.

Kebatu, who was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault and one attempted sexual assault, against a 14-year-old girl and a woman, had arrived illegally in the UK days earlier on a small boat, and was housed at the Bell hotel with other asylum seekers in Epping.

He tried to kiss a 14-year-old schoolgirl and then groped a woman who came to her aid.

He was eventually given a 12-month jail term in September. Then the 41-year-old was mistakenly freed from HMP Chelmsford in Essex just a month into his sentence and was re-arrested following a two-day manhunt.

He was subsequently deported to his native Ethiopia, but only after receiving a £500 ‘discretionary’ payment after he apparently threatened to disrupt his removal.
