Anthony Joshua ‘injured in deadly automobile crash’ as two killed in horror smash

Anthony Joshua has been involved in a fatal car crash in Nigeria, according to local reports.

The British heavyweight, 36, is reported have been involved in the accident that occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Joshua’s vehicle, a Lexus Jeep, is said to have collided with another car, with the circumstances that caused the crash under investigation.

Joshua is reported to have suffered minor injuries by eyewitnesses who helped at the scene, but two other individuals were killed as a result of the collision. The incident happened near Makun, Ogun State, with images of the incident shared on social media.




Joshua can be seen in his Lexus Jeep as bystanders attempt to help those who have been injured in the crash.

The British heavyweight is helped out of his jeep, with those around him offering aid. Joshua has been celebrating defeating Jake Paul in their lucrative heavyweight match earlier this month.

He knocked down the American YouTuber-turned-professional boxer in the sixth round at Miami’s Kaseya Center on Saturday, December 19, leaving his younger rival on the canvas with a double broken jaw.

Exclusively streamed on Netflix, and viewed by 33 million people, the duo reportedly split a staggering £140m purse from the showdown – equating to over £4m each for every minute spent battling it out inside the rope.

.However, two-time world heavyweight champion and former Olympic gold medallist Joshua will have to surrender a significant portion of his earnings due to strict obligations to pay both American and British tax authorities.

According to AceOdds, the Watford-born boxer will have to shell out 37% of his prize money to the IRS as the bout took place on American soil, with the payday subject to US income tax at the maximum rate.
