BREAKING Anthony Joshua pictured surprised and injured inside mangled automobile after deadly crash

British boxing star Anthony Joshua has been pictured looking dazed after he was involved in a fatal car crash in Nigeria.

The heavyweight, 36, had been travelling along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, near Makun, Ogun State, when Joshua’s car, a Lexus Jeep, is said to have collided with another vehicle shortly after 11am on Monday, December 29.

And distressing images of the aftermath were shared on social media, including Joshua in his Lexus Jeep looking dazed. Footage appears to show Joshua being helped out of the car before he is offered aid by bystanders who were quick to the scene to help.

Joshua, who is not wearing a top, winces in pain. He is later seen sitting in the front seat of an emergency vehicle, speaking to officials. The camera then pans in the horrifying clip, which goes on to show the wreckage and images of the victims of the crash on the ground.

Ogun State Police Command confirmed Joshua and other injured people have been taken to “an undisclosed hospital”. The Star’s sister title Mirror Sport spoke to Eddie Hearn, his promoter, who is currently on holiday in the Caribbean.

Hearn, who had only just found out about the crash, said he understood that Joshua was okay and on his way to the hospital, but had no further information to give.

According to local reports, four people were inside the Lexus at the time, while his security followed in a separate vehicle.

It’s said rescue efforts began immediately, with eyewitnesses flagging down passing motorists to assist. The local outlets added that officers from the Nigerian Federal Road Safety Corps arrived within minutes to secure the area.

Local media confirmed two victims died instantly, though details about their identities have not yet been released.

Joshua, who has family roots in Sagamu, a town in Ogun State, was in Nigeria after he defeated Jake Paul in their lucrative heavyweight match earlier this month.

He knocked down the American YouTuber-turned-professional boxer in the sixth round at Miami’s Kaseya Center on Saturday, December 19, leaving his younger rival on the canvas with a double broken jaw.
