Sky Sports star Leonna Mayor proclaims cut up from disgraced rugby ace Stuart Hogg
Horse racing presenter Leonna Mayor has announced that she and Stuart Hogg are no longer together, with the rugby star having previously pleaded guilty to domestic abuse of his ex-wife
Racing presenter Leonna Mayor has confirmed that her relationship with disgraced rugby legend Stuart Hogg has come to an end. The Sky Sports and ITV broadcaster shared the news on social media on Friday, nearly a year after welcoming their first child together.
The couple made their romance public in November 2023, mere days after Hogg’s former wife, Gillian, had given birth to their fourth child. Twelve months on, Hogg pleaded guilty to domestic abuse of Gillian.
The 33-year-old escaped a prison sentence but witnessed his standing as one of Scotland’s finest ever players destroyed, reports the Mirror. Hogg had also represented the British and Irish Lions on three occasions.
Mayor, 35, has now confirmed that she and Hogg have parted ways. Taking to Instagram, the former jockey penned: “Now seems as good a time as any.
Lots of you guys asking about my situation and life recently. I am no longer with Stuart. I appreciate everyone’s genuine interest in our life.
“I’m not one to discuss other people’s lives so won’t add detail. We’ll just say it’s just me and Teddy. It has been for a while now so I am in a position to be able to talk about our future with friends and family and those closest to us.
“New year. Fresh start. Me and the most precious thing. Lots of exciting things planned in life and work coming up.”
Their son, Teddy, arrived in February 2025. “A beautiful perfect bundle on 12/2/2025 at just 4lb 6oz,” an overjoyed Mayor shared following the birth at a French hospital. The pair resided across the channel due to Hogg’s commitment to French side Montpellier.
Hogg stepped away from rugby two months before the 2023 Rugby World Cup but changed his mind last year.
“I gave up on my rugby career to try to save my marriage,” the former Glasgow Warriors and Exeter Chiefs star revealed to the Rugby Paper. “At the time, I didn’t know who I was.
“I didn’t know what was going on in life, whether I was making people happy or sad. I used alcohol to escape. I was purely existing. I’m in a better place mentally than I’ve been in years. I used to think being selfish was strength.
“But I took that too far. I hurt people. Now, I’m learning to be selfless for the right reasons – for my kids, my partner, my team. I know I’ll never be the same Stuart Hogg I once was, but I’m okay with it. I’ve found peace.”
Hogg continued: “I missed the camaraderie, the laughs, the buzz. I needed that back. The players and coaches [at Montpellier] value me, maybe because I finally value myself.
“The real downside is being away from my kids and getting the chance to go back and see them regularly. The hope is that they will be able to come out to France and see me.”
