Cleaning enterprise boss admits stealing Hermes and Gucci purses price hundreds plus jewelry from rich properties
A woman has admitted stealing thousands of pounds’ worth of designer handbags and jewellery from swanky homes.
Roseann Pelosi, 62, swiped items including Gucci and Hermes handbags, diamond engagement rings and necklaces from houses in towns near Glasgow.
She stole a cream Gucci handbag and a silver Gucci necklace from a property in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, around eight miles south-east of the city.
She also took a sought-after black Hermes handbag, a Gucci sweater and another black Gucci handbag as well as a bottle of perfume from the house.
Pelosi also raided a house in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, six miles north of Bothwell, from which she stole a three-stone diamond engagement ring.
Another house in Coatbridge was also deprived of a nine-stone diamond engagement ring by the light-fingered crook.
Pelosi, of Shettleston in Glasgow, describes herself online as running house cleaning and window-dressing businesses.
Her heists took place between March 2023 and October 2024. Police were called in to investigate the thefts and she was later identified as the culprit and arrested.

She initially appeared on 12 charges, of which four were later dropped or had not guilty pleas accepted by the Crown
Appearing at Hamilton Sheriff Court, she admitted eight charges of theft.
Niamh Rankin, defending, told the court: ‘She is not working at the moment and is in receipt of disability allowance.’
Sheriff Shirley McKenna deferred sentence on Pelosi for reports. The thief was ordained to appear.
Prosecutors are expected to give a full account of her crimes at the subsequent hearing.
The cost of the items she stole is expected to be in the thousands: Gucci bags retail for up to £2,390 at a time, while Hermes bags can run into five figures.
Pelosi had initially been charged with 12 counts of theft. However, prosecutors accepted not guilty pleas to claims Pelosi had taken a pair of earrings and a Gucci belt from the house in Bothwell.
They also dropped allegations she had taken £100 in cash and a black Biba handbag from the first home in Coatbridge.
