FBI reveals glove discovered close to Nancy Guthrie’s residence ‘matches’ these worn by suspect in surveillance video: Live updates

A glove found approximately two miles from Nancy Guthrie‘s Tucson home ‘appears to match’ the pair the suspect was seen wearing in doorbell surveillance footage, the FBI has said.

Last week, several gloves were found near Nancy’s home before being sealed in evidence bags by the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, and shipped overnight for testing at a private lab in Florida, NewNation’s Brian Entin revealed on Sunday morning.

Nearly 16 gloves were collected near her home, and most of them were used and discarded by searchers at the site, Entin said in an X post.

One of the gloves is different from the rest and appears to match the ones the unidentified masked captor was wearing in the doorbell video captured at Nancy’s front porch, the FBI shared with Entin.

Officials are awaiting confirmation on DNA results, which usually takes about 24 hours to come back, the agency added.

This is the latest breakthrough in the 84-year-old’s case after she was reported missing on February 1. The search for her has captivated the country as she has not been seen or heard from since.

Last week, investigators released a chilling video of an unidentified masked man, armed with a gun, trying to obscure the doorbell camera on Nancy’s front door. He also wore black nitrile gloves.

Several people have been questioned in connection with her disappearance, but were later released. A series of ransom notes have also been sent to media outlets, including TMZ, demanding at least $6 million in bitcoin from the Guthrie family.

Follow along for more details as the investigation unfolds.

Glove found near Nancy Guthrie’s home ‘matches’ the one’s worn by suspect in chilling video, FBI says

A total of 16 gloves were found about two miles from Nancy’s home, the FBI told NewsNation’s Brian Entin.

On Sunday, the journalist revealed that most of those gloves were used by searchers who then discarded them on the ground.

But one of the gloves appeared to be a match to the one’s a male suspect was wearing in doorbell footage captured in the early hours of February 1, the agency said.

Many questioning why so many gloves were found

After it was revealed that around 16 gloves were found just miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home, people shared their confusion and frustration online.

Many have been left stumped over the fact that the FBI said a majority of the gloves belonged to searchers who discarded them on the ground.

One person said the staggering number of gloves means law enforcement ‘failed Nancy’.

Meanwhile, one of the gloves ‘appears to match’ the ones the unidentified masked suspect was wearing in the doorbell camera footage, the FBI said, according to NewsNation’s Brian Entin.

Entin even called the FBI statement ‘confusing’.

Officials installed a ‘signal sniffer’ on a Pima County Sheriff’s helicopter on Saturday evening to see if the rare device can potentially locate Nancy’s pacemaker.

The 84-year-old had the medical device, which regulates a person’s heartrate, linked to her iPhone and Apple watch.

Around 2.30am, the pacemaker stopped syncing with her personal devices.

The missing elderly woman is required to take medication for her serious potential heart condition.
