Glamorous Winter Olympic star with tens of millions within the financial institution in comparison with Luke Littler
Eileen Gu won her second medal of the Winter Olympics on Monday, picking up silver in the big air ski freestyle, by pipping Team GB’s Kirsy Muir to a podium finish
Skiing sensation Eileen Gu has been dubbed the sport’s Luke Littler after she claimed silver at the Winter Olympics on Monday. The Chinese athlete, born in the USA, secured her second medal of this year’s games after finishing runner-up in the Women’s Freeski Slopestyle.
Gu aimed for her second medal on Monday as she sought to defend her big air ski freestyle crown. Nevertheless, she managed only to grab another silver with a score of 179, whilst Canada’s Megan Oldham soared to triumph.
Oldham topped the final with a combined score of 180.75 points from two jumps. Italy’s Flora Tabanelli claimed bronze, despite competing with an injured ACL.

Gu’s display relegated Team GB star Kirsty Muir to fourth, who tumbled. “Eileen Gu is the Luke Littler of skiing,” BBC commentator Tim Warwood said. “Nerves of steel.”
Co-commentator Ed Leigh added: “Eileen Gu does not double fault, it’s not in the Eileen Gu manual. It’s unbelievable, absolutely mechanical. She just doesn’t miss, you know from the moment she took off. Eileen just turns up every four years and gets a medal.”
Gu possesses an estimated net worth of $50million (£36.8m) and ranks among the highest-earning Winter Olympians. After previously competing for Team USA, she switched allegiance to represent China in 2019.
The 22-year-old defended her choice based on her mother’s background and her ambition to develop skiing within the country. The Wall Street Journal revealed that the Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau awarded her $6.6m (£4.8m), with a public budget inadvertently disclosing Gu’s name as a beneficiary.
Her name featured next to American-born figure skater Zhu Yi before both names were struck from the documentation. Gu has subsequently renounced her United States citizenship following the transfer.
