Major UK vacation park enters administration as clients given warning

Stonham Barns Holiday Park in Suffolk with shopping village, theatre and golf course has appointed administrators but promises to honour all existing bookings

A prominent UK holiday park, complete with its own shopping village, theatre and golf course, has fallen into administration. The fate of Stonham Barns hangs in the balance after it lodged a notice to appoint administrators.

The park, renowned for hosting unique events such as historical re-enactments and classic car shows, is situated in the Suffolk countryside and filed the notice on Monday, February 16.

David Hudson and David Hinrichsen of FRP Advisory have been appointed as joint administrators following a period of financial strain on the business”.

All existing holiday bookings will be honoured, and the site will continue to accept new bookings, with all facilities operating as usual throughout the administration process.

David Hudson, joint administrator and partner at FRP, told The Sun: “We are very much focussed on business as usual and want to reassure guests with existing bookings that these are unaffected. “”Anyone considering booking a visit can make one with confidence too.

We are actively marketing the site for sale and would welcome bidders who see the opportunity here with a well-established and popular caravan park. “In a statement, FRP Advisory confirmed it had been appointed administrators to Stonham Barns Holiday Park, at Stonham Aspal, Suffolk.”

The administrators are focused on continuing to trade the site whilst seeking a buyer, with the aim of securing the park’s future as a going concern,” the statement said.”, reports Birmingham Live.

All existing holiday bookings will be honoured, and the site will continue to take new bookings. All facilities will remain operational as normal throughout the administration process.

On its website, the park declares: “Stonham Barns Leisure and Shopping Village is a bustling family complex filled with an abundance of attractions and activities to suit all, providing a wonderful family day out in the Suffolk Countryside.

“Conveniently situated on the A1120 tourist route.”

It also houses:

  • Suffolk Owl Sanctuary and Meerkat Castle
  • Golf Park a variety of golfing activities
  • Two fully stocked fishing lakes
  • Children’s play area with climbing frames
  • Fair rides, event showground and theatre
