Britain is going crazy for curling after the Winter Olympics success. The final on Saturday (February 21), which saw Team GB beaten by Canada, pulled in 5.5m viewers which was more than Britain’s Got Talent.
It was the most watched show on Saturday after being aired on the BBC. Comic Jack Whitehall, 37, wrote on X: “Can we have curling all year round. I want a fantasy league, maybe some podcasts. #Addicted.”
Team GB’s men’s team were made up of captain Bruce Mouat, Hammy McMillan Jr, Bobby Lammie and Grant Hardie. They suffered an agonising 6-9 loss to Canada to land the silver medal as they did four years ago at the Beijing Games.

Scot Bruce, 31, said: “If we can take anything away from this week as well as the silver medal, it is being able to inspire people hopefully to participate. That is an achievement in itself I hope.”
Bruce added: “I’m 100% continuing. I love the game, I love the sport and I love my team-mates. I’m not done yet. We’ll definitely have a debrief.
“I’d love to play with the guys again, but we haven’t had that conversation as four individuals yet. Personally, I want to continue – and we’ll go from there.”
Meanwhile, British coach Greg Drummond reckons Bruce’s rink “are the best in the world” when they are on top form. He said: “Couldn’t be more prouder of the boys. But in some respect, the game sums up the week a little bit. We’ve been very, very close to A plus the whole week.
“The guys have played great all week. We’ve lost to a very good team. There’s no question in that, but it’s going to sting for a little while, because the guys, when they are A plus, they are the best in the world.”
