Meet World Cup legend’s bikini magnificence spouse who’s ’embarrassed being so curvy’

A World Cup winner’s stunning wife is known for her eye-catching bikini snaps but admitted she is ‘embarrassed being so curvy’ as they ‘don’t match her personality’

The stunning wife of a World Cup winner admitted she is ‘embarrassed being so curvy’ after her bikini snaps left few knowing where to look.

Italy legend Gianluca Zambrotta, who turned 49 last week, struck gold with his beautiful wife Valentina Liguori when they first met in 1998. The right-back went on to marry the model and they have a child called Riccardo together.

Zambrotta came through at Como before he earned a move to Bari and soon Juventus in 1999, where he played for seven years before leaving as the Old Lady were relegated following the Calciopoli scandal. He starred for Barcelona and AC Milan before retiring at minnows Chiasso in Switzerland and later started his managerial career there.

Football has been central to Zambrotta’s life, but so is his wife Valentina who previously opened up to TgCom24 about her relationship with the beautiful game: “I’ve always supported the teams my husband played for. Now that Gianluca is no longer with me, I support Napoli… I’m Neapolitan.

“I’ve never actually lived feeling like a ‘WAG.’ We’ve always had a pretty quiet life: the only ‘excesses’ we’ve indulged in were wonderful vacations,” she explained.

“Gianluca has never liked to show off, and neither have I. I’m proud of him, first and foremost, for his integrity as a man and then certainly also for his achievements. Both as a couple first and as a family now, we love spending time with relatives and friends. We don’t mind staying at home, but when the opportunity arises, we don’t mind going out. In short, perhaps we’re boring.”

Valentina also spoke about her incredible physique: “I’ve actually never been a model except when I was very young, a minor. Let’s just say my body doesn’t really match my personality. Being so curvy has often embarrassed me, but over time I’ve learned to accept myself. Unfortunately, I’m not a super athlete, but I still try to get some exercise. Having a gym gives me no excuses.”

She revealed how she met the Italy star and how much he loves to spoil her. “We met way back in 1998, way back in the last century (laughs)… at my cousin’s wedding, who married Gianluca’s former teammate from Bari,” Valentina added.

“A dream surprise party, organised for my birthday. In one of the most evocative locations in Como, with all my loved ones, my favourite music, my favourite flowers, my favourite foods, a 10-piece gospel choir singing happy birthday to me, and to top it all off, fireworks over the lake with Jovanotti’s “A te” as the soundtrack. I was so emotional I cried almost the entire party!”

Zambrotta revealed last year he suffers from a bone deformity in his legs, causing them to curve outwards at the knees. He opened up about requiring surgery after doctors were left stunned he could still walk.

“I have visited three or four leading surgeons nationwide, and they can’t explain to me how I can have these knees or how I can engage in physical activities like padel, for example,” he said. “The doctors look at me and ask me how I walk.

“Basically, they’ll straighten my legs by cutting small pieces of bone above and below and inserting plates to try to avoid having to get a full prosthesis now. Although I’ll have to get one in a few years.”
