Coleen Rooney has admitted it can be “annoying” that her husband Wayne Rooney is at home more frequently, just before it was revealed that the former footballer partied with a “mysterious woman” at a pre-Brits bash.
The 40-year-old former Manchester United star spends a lot more time at their plush £20 million mansion in Cheshire, North West England, since becoming a football pundit after retiring from playing in 2021 and managing Derby County, Birmingham City, DC United and Plymouth Argyle.
Coleen, 39, told The Sunday Times: “In some ways it’s good, in some ways it’s annoying, because we’ve never had that much time together.”

The media personality enjoys taking charge and organising everything in a paper diary, but emphasised that she and Wayne strive to find the “balance” at home. Coleen said: “I like everything in order; he’s a bit more laid-back”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
When asked if she bosses him around, Coleen added: “He would probably say that, but I would say he needs telling sometimes.”
The celebrity met Wayne when she was just 12 years old, and they shared their first kiss behind a church when they were 16. Former Everton F.C. midfielder/attacking midfielder Wayne proposed in the forecourt of a BP garage in 2003, when he was 18 and Coleen was 17.
Wayne and Coleen tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Portofino, Italy, five years later, and they have since welcomed sons Kai, 16, Klay, 12, Kit, 10, and Cass, eight, into the world.
Coleen has stated that her relationship with Wayne has remained robust as they’ve matured and started a family. She said: “Obviously, it’s changed with age and children coming on board and career changes.
“You have your ups and downs, you have things that happen in life. But I think being together from a young age, we know each other inside and out. We’re a team. So no, I wouldn’t say we’ve changed. I would say things around us have changed.”
However, now photos obtained by The Sun and seen by Daily Star Sport show the Manchester United icon drinking with a pair of mystery women. According to The Sun, Rooney was at the posh Manchester hotel with pop star Calum Scott and a group of male friends.
The publication reports that Rooney began chatting with two women, one of whom was with her boyfriend. One onlooker told the outlet that Rooney was looking “worse for wear” in the early hours of the morning.
Rooney is said to have spent almost two hours chatting with the women, with one onlooker saying: “He seemed like he was having a laugh and joking around with the women.”
The ex-United star exited the hotel just after 3am and left on his own.
“He later left alone. He stood outside where there were quite a few people gathered and got into a car,” a source said.
