EasyJet passenger had ‘an excessive amount of to drink’ and abused cabin crew throughout turbulence
Anthony Morrison-Taylor was fined £500 and ordered to pay £1,500 in compensation and costs after his abusive outburst towards cabin crew on the Bristol to Newcastle flight in February 2024
A foul-mouthed plane passenger who was abusive towards an air steward when he was refused alcohol during a flight has has been fined. Anthony Morrison-Taylor drew the attention of cabin crew on an easyJet flight from Bristol to Newcastle in February 2024 because he appeared intoxicated.
When the moment arrived for passengers to purchase drinks, Morrison-Taylor was informed he wouldn’t be permitted additional alcohol and he reacted in an abusive manner. When the reasoning behind the refusal was reiterated, he declared: “You can all f*** off, I’m getting alcohol and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
He continued by stating: “You are all a bunch of *****”. The air steward alerted police via air traffic control and Morrison-Taylor was detained when the aircraft touched down at Newcastle Airport.

The court was told Morrison-Taylor’s abusive conduct occurred during a period of turbulence on the flight, reports Chronicle Live.
In a victim impact statement, the air steward said he was left feeling shocked. He said his role involves looking after customer safety and added: “That’s all I was doing. Unfortunately this type of incident is happening more and more.”
Morrison-Taylor, 44, of Cellar Hill Close, Newbottle Village, near Houghton-le-Spring, admitted to a public order offence.
Judge Gavin Doig postponed sentencing for six months last September on condition he committed no further drink-related crimes. He warned him at the time: “You have convictions for being drunk and disorderly and excess alcohol so I’m worried about your use of alcohol.”
Since he complied with the requirement and stayed out of trouble, he has now been ordered to pay a £500 fine, must compensate the cabin crew member who suffered his tirade £750 and contribute £750 towards prosecution expenses.
Judge Doig informed him: “You pleaded guilty to a public order offence and that was an offence committed in early 2024 on an aircraft. You had too much to drink and were abusive to cabin crew who were simply trying to protect those on the aircraft and ensure good behaviour.
“As you are well aware, that was shocking behaviour and deserving of punishment. But you are a 44-year-old man and don’t have a history of offending and I sincerely hope we don’t see you again, and there’s a good chance of that.”
Peter Sabiston, defending, previously described it as an isolated episode and explained Morrison-Taylor is industrious and supplied character testimonials.
