Declan Rice exhibits true colors when requested about Arsenal quadruple hopes
Arsenal are fighting on all four fronts, and after their win over Bayer Leverkusen Declan Rice was asked about the Gunners’ potential quadruple
Declan Rice has admitted Arsenal have to be “really strong” if they want to win the quadruple this season.
The Gunners, who advanced into the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Tuesday evening, are fighting on four fronts this season. And they will have their first shot at silverware in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday.
And speaking to CBS Sports after their win over Bayer Leverkusen, Thierry Henry asked Rice about playing all in four competitors. The midfielder responded: “Yeah, it’s so hard… And i’m not just saying that, it’s mentally really, really tough – just as hard as it is physically.

“Mentally it’s really tough. You have to be really strong, really resilient. There’s ups and there’s downs, we’re all humans too. Some days you go in and it’s like we’ve got another in two days time how are we going to get up for it again.
“But you just find that energy from somewhere and it’s obviously amazing for us and for the club that we’re in four competitions.
“We have an amazing squad and everyone is involved and ready and playing their part in major competitions for us, which is really good.
“But I think for now, we’re over that mental side in it and we’re in March now and the season ends in May – two months now to give it everything we’ve got leave a legacy at this club.
“We’ll take it one game at a time and hopefully keep on doing special things!”
Arsenal can win their first trophy at the weekend, and Mikel Arteta was asked if that was on his mind during Tuesday evening’s clash. He said: “Every decision to be honest was focused on today’s game.
“What was at stake was huge, we’ve been three times in the quarter-finals but I don’t know how many [in total].
“Not that many, I don’t think, and that tells you how difficult it is to achieve it, and now we can start to think about Sunday.”
