Kuala Lumpur airport horror as 2 passengers fall to deaths from identical balcony inside hours

A Chinese woman, 27, and an Algerian man, 30, died in two separate incidents at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia, with the woman reported to have been ‘crying and screaming’ before the fall

Two holidaymakers have tragically fallen to their deaths from a balcony at a Malaysian airport within hours of each other. Shocked travellers witnessed a 27-year-old Chinese woman plummet at Kuala Lumpur International before a 30-year-old Algerian man also died in two separate incidents on Friday that police believe are unconnected.

The woman was spotted perched on a ledge before falling at approximately 2:20pm on May 1 – with local authorities revealing she had been “crying and screaming aggressively” moments before her death.

Security staff and Kuala Lumpur International personnel had tried to reassure the woman but she resisted and tumbled into the KLIA2 loading bay. She was rushed to Putrajaya Hospital, where she was declared dead.

Officers in the Malaysian capital disclosed she had been due to catch a return flight to China on May 1 and an inquiry has been opened into the circumstances, reports the Mirror.

Then at approximately 9:10pm, a 30-year-old Algerian man leapt from the external balcony section on the third floor of Terminal 2. KLIA police chief M Ravi stated that a bystander observed the man breach a safety barrier before tragically tumbling from a ledge.

Paramedics discovered him at the location before rushing him to Cyberjaya Hospital for care but he passed away at 2.55am this morning after losing his battle with his injuries.

Local officers appealed to the public not to speculate about either incident. “A medical team that arrived at the scene provided emergency treatment, and the man was taken to Cyberjaya Hospital for further treatment.

At about 2.55am today, the hospital confirmed that he had died,” Ravi reportedly stated in a release.
