The PM is expected to suffer devastating losses in Wales, where Labour has been in power since 1999 when the country was devolved. Currently, Labour could fall to third in Wales, with Plaid Cymru and Reform UK in a neck-and-neck battle to become the largest party. Senedd results are expected between 2pm to 5:30pm.

All eyes will be on whether Eluned Morgan, Wales’s First Minister, has won the battle to hold her own marginal seat in Ceredigion Penfro.

The Scottish National Party is expected to hold on in Scotland despite their almost 20 years in power being marred by failure and scandal. Reform UK is also expected to make gains north of the border. Holyrood results are not expected until 12pm to 6:30pm.

Other areas to watch include Sunderland – a Labour controlled council since its creation in 1974 – where all 75 city seats are being contested in the local elections. Reform is targeting the city in the North East.

Norfolk County Council is also an area to keep an eye on. Seaside town Great Yarmouth in the area is at the heart of a niche right-wing power struggle – between Nigel Farage’s Reform Party and Rupert Lowe’s Restore Britain.
