NASA astronauts were left stunned by “bright objects” drifting past their spacecraft during the Apollo missions, according to bombshell declassified files released by the Trump administration. The long-awaited data dump, ordered by US President Donald Trump, has finally blown the lid off decades of top-secret government records concerning Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).
While the files contain hundreds of videos and photographs, the most striking evidence comes from the lunar surface. Transcripts from the Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 missions reveal the moment world-famous explorers spotted potential signs they weren’t alone in the vacuum of space.
During the Apollo 17 mission, the crew became transfixed by mysterious fragments stalking their ship.
One operator, clearly baffled by the sight, radioed mission control to report: “Now we’ve got a few very bright particles or fragments or something that go drifting by as we manoeuvre.”
The situation escalated as more craft appeared to surround the module. Another crew member described a scene of pure chaos outside his glass, saying: “There’s a whole bunch of big ones on my window down there – just bright. It looks like the Fourth of July out of Ron’s window.”
The testimony is supported by a declassified photograph taken from the Moon’s surface, which appears to show three unexplained glowing dots hovering in the pitch-black lunar sky.
President Trump took to Truth Social to celebrate the release, which was uploaded to the Department of War’s website on Friday.
He revealed he had directed Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and other federal agencies to come clean on ” alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).”
“GOD BLESS AMERICA!” the president added, as the public scrambled to download the files. Beyond the NASA revelations, the files contain terrifying accounts from military pilots and FBI records.
They include targeting pod footage from a service member who tracked a “bright object” for 20 seconds before it suddenly dimmed and vanished.
They also feature FBI images from New Year’s Eve 1999 showing unidentified craft operating near US military aircraft and mission reports detailing “fast-moving objects” streaking past fighter planes mid-flight.
Secretary Hegseth said the administration is committed to “unprecedented transparency,” though several documents remain redacted to protect sensitive military locations.
Lawmakers say the files are just the beginning, with more extraterrestrial evidence expected to be declassified in the coming months.
