UK faculty on lockdown as police rush to scene and oldsters informed ‘keep away’

A UK school has been put in lockdown with police rushing to the scene and parents urged to stay away.
The lockdown at Childwall Sports and Science Academy has taken place as a “precautionary” measure to ensure the safety of students and staff. A letter to parents from the academy said the school is currently in lockdown as a “precaution” to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Parents have been told not to attend the school as the situation unfolds. It said it will provide further updates as soon as it’s possible to do so. Merseyside Police was rushed to the school in Liverpool after a threat was reportedly made towards a pupil.
The threat is said to have been made by a teenager around midday. The force confirmed there’s no wider threat to any other pupils or staff at the school. Police officers and a dedicated Safer Schools Officer are currently at the school to provide reassurance as enquiries are carried out.
The decision to lockdown the site was made by the school.
Merseyside Police stated: “We can confirm officers are currently in attendance at Childwall Sports and Science Academy following a report of a threat towards a pupil which is believed to have come from a teenager today, Thursday 14 May.
“The report was made just before midday. There is not believed to be any wider threat to any other pupil or member of staff at the school.
“Officers, including a dedicated Safer Schools Officer, are currently at the school to provide reassurance, and enquiries are being carried out into the incident. The decision to lockdown the site has been made by the school.”
