Aldi plans new shops throughout the UK in 2026 main enlargement – full checklist of areas
Aldi is inviting the public to help shape its UK expansion plans by suggesting where new stores should open, with the most popular locations to be reviewed by the supermarket’s team
Aldi has revealed its latest catalogue of locations where it hopes to launch new branches, with the discount retailer appealing to the public to help pinpoint the most suitable sites for fresh stores.
The budget supermarket is encouraging shoppers to put forward recommendations for where new Aldi outlets should be established. The most popular suggestions will be examined by Aldi’s property team as part of the retailer’s pledge to extend its reach into additional communities.
Aldi is ploughing more than £370 million into new outlets this year, as it progresses towards its ambitious goal of 1,500 sites across the country.
Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: “We know how important it is for people to have access to affordable, high-quality food close to where they live, which is why we’re asking our shoppers to help us identify the communities that would benefit most from a new Aldi store.
“Opening new stores in these areas means we can bring great value to more customers, while also creating jobs and offering industry-leading pay.”
The grocer launched a comparable scheme last year, which identified areas in London, Merseyside and Oxfordshire as top priorities among customers. Since then, developments have already begun to deliver a new outlet close to Pendle Drive, Liverpool, and Hanworth and Willesden in London, reports the Mirror.
To suggest a town or district for consideration, shoppers are encouraged to email [email protected] and include the town they wish to propose in the subject line of the email.
Aldi is inviting submissions by Thursday, 18 June 2026, with the intention of sharing the findings and revealing the next batch of priority locations later this year.
