Rother Valley Park search after teenage boy ‘had entered the water’

Police, fire crews and ambulance crews are on the scene of a major search after a teenage boy had “entered the water” and was “not seen getting out” at a popular park in Rotherham

Emergency services have launched a major search for a missing boy who “entered the water” at a park in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

Police were called to Rother Valley Country Park at around 6:50pm on Bank Holiday Monday (May 25) after the boy “was not seen getting out”.

Speaking yesterday, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called to Rother Valley Country Park at 6:50pm today (Monday 25 May) following reports that a teenage boy had entered the water but had not been seen getting out.

“Officers are in attendance alongside emergency crews from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and efforts are ongoing to try and find him.

“The search is continuing into the night and updates will be provided as soon as possible.”
