‘Cheapest pint within the UK’ revealed as pub brings again feeling of a ‘true native’

A village pub is going viral after offering up a cold one for as little as £2.50 – and is believed to be Britain’s cheapest boozer.

The cheapest pint in the UK has been hunted out as we all need a refreshing drink as the heatwave continues. A village pub is going viral after offering up cold ones in the sun for as little as £2.50 – and is believed to be Britain’s cheapest boozer.

Landlords say they have slashed the price of a popular pint in a bid to draw customers again and make a visit to the local a more affordable thing to do again.

The Cornish Arms has launched a “Proper Pub Prices” initiative saying they are sick of costs going up all over the country and pricing people out of enjoying the nation’s favourite slurp.

The pub, based in Cornwall, is offering a range of drinks for less than the price of a supermarket meal deal.

They say it wants to bring back the feeling of a “true local” rather than becoming another expensive destination venue and have a host of beers available in the offer.

And if a pint doesn’t tickle your fancy, it is not just beer on offer.

As part of the move, customers can now buy selected draught beers, ciders, wines and spirits for £2.50 a pop.

Drinks included in the offer include Carlsberg, Boddingtons, Hidden Brewery Ale and Thatcher’s Gold on draught, as well as spirits including vodka, gin, whisky and rum also part of the initiative, with mixers included.

House red, white and rosé wine are available for £2.50 per 125ml glass.

The pub, located in Constantine, between Falmouth and Helston in Cornwall, has shared posters advertising the move online alongside the slogan “Proper Pub Prices”.

Brits have been quick to share the new deal, with booze fans flooding the pub’s Facebook page with praise after the deal was first announced in April.

One person wrote: “Locals supporting a brilliant village local pub. We appreciate you.”

Someone else added: “Brilliant.”

The move comes as pub prices across the UK continue rising, with the average cost of a pint now topping £5 in many parts of the country.
