Cool down this summer

Each container within the machine can fill up to four ice cream cones, while the device’s Soft Serve Creamify technology can essentially transform virtually anything into ice cream, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Those who would rather spend considerably less might consider the Andrew James Ice Cream Maker, which is £34.99. This appliance can produce ice creams, gelatos, or sorbets in just 20 minutes and features four detachable parts for straightforward assembly.
The Cuisinart FreezeEase has earned a 4.6-star rating on Amazon from over 1,500 reviews, with one customer commenting: “I was deciding between this and the Ninja Creami, and so glad I went with this. The Creami requires much more prep with overnight freezing.
“This actually makes ice cream from liquid to frozen in 60 mins – much better. Simply mix your ingredients or make and cool a custard base, and put it in the machine. Ice cream comes out a bit stiffer than a McFlurry – you can then put it in the freezer if you want it hardened. It freezes well with no ice crystals.”
Another customer remarked: “What a fabulous machine! It’s so quiet, I tried a couple of other ice cream makers before ordering the Cuisinart ice cream maker, only to be disappointed with the extreme noise when in operation!
“This machine is an absolute delight, small, compact and makes perfect ice cream in no time. I have yet to try making other products, but I’m sure I will. As I said, it’s an absolute delight to use; try it for yourself! You will not be disappointed.”
A third said: “I wanted a machine to make real dairy ice cream without having to freeze the bowl. I made a batch of vanilla yesterday, and it’s the best ice cream I have ever tasted. I cannot wait to try other flavours. It was so easy to make and a lot cheaper than buying expensive brands from the shops, plus it just had natural ingredients. I love this machine and would definitely recommend it.”
A fourth added: “This is amazing. I wanted it for gelato, so I was unsure. I have made the most amazing pistachio, strawberry, mango and vanilla gelato and looking to make lemon next. Would highly recommend!”
A fifth said: “Makes amazing ice cream in 20 minutes. I struggle to boil an egg, but this machine means I now make great ice cream, smoothies, and sorbet. Definitely worth getting one that chills the mix internally.”
A sixth added: “Easy to use and fast – takes 40-50 mins, depending on how soft or firm you like it. Also, it’s easy to add chocolate chips or anything else you like during the freezing process. Excellent piece of kit and no need for the 24hr freezing required by other ice cream makes (which in effect are glorified mixers).”
However, some other customers did raise minor concerns, with one noting: “Don’t be tempted to put a whole litre of mix in as it will almost certainly come over the edge of the mixing bowl. Works a treat, and quickly. Pretty quiet in operation and very simple to use.
“So far, I’ve been just using cartons of premade mix (half a litre at a time), which is fine to begin with. I will move to a proper home made in due course. The three main components (bowl, whisk and lid) are apparently not dishwasher safe, which is a pity, but they are simple enough to clean by hand, so it’s not a major flaw.”
Another added: “I love making ice cream with this Cuisinart ice cream maker. It is easy and consistent once you figure out your favourite recipes. Lately, the machine is making ‘troubling noises’ while churning the ice cream. I hope it is not a bad sign – so far so good!I highly recommend this to every ice cream lover. You get to control what goes into your ice cream without compromising on a ‘professional texture’.”
