Liverpool information: Andoni Iraola enters £103m switch battle as membership ‘needn’t promote’

Liverpool have entered the race for a Premier League star under new manager Andoni Iraola – but they have also been dealt a blow in their pursuit of a winger

Liverpool have emerged as a surprise destination for a Premier League star – who looks set to leave his club this summer.

The Reds have already been active in the transfer market, as well as welcoming new boss Andoni Iraola, following a dismal season under Arne Slot who paid for a fifth-placed finish by losing his job. And with the new manager comes a new set of transfer targets – including Sandro Tonali.

Tonali had been a standout at AC Milan and Newcastle, but he looks set to leave the latter with Spurs and Manchester City emerging as potential destinations. Daily Star Sport has a look at the two biggest stories coming out of Anfield in the past 24 hours.

Liverpool enter Sandro Tonali battle

Liverpool have emerged as a shock destination for Sandro Tonali, who is looking increasingly likely to leave Newcastle this summer with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City interested in his services.

However, according to a report from Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Reds could also be a potential destination. The report claims that Tonali’s starting price of €100m (£86m) could jump to €120m (£103m) due to the interest being shown.

Spurs have made the Italy international their top summer target and it’s understood they have agreed a personal package worth £275k-a-week with the player following talks with his agency, GR Sports.

PSG ‘don’t need to sell’

Liverpool have been hotly linked with PSG’s young sensation Bradley Barcola – and they had hoped the French giants needed to offload the star to balance their books.

However, after PSG agreed a huge deal for Goncalo Ramos to join Milan, PSG are not required to raise anymore funds.

And even if they did part ways, The Athletic report that the French champions would be looking for a fee around what Manchester City are offering Elliot Anderson. However, Lee Kang-in and Randal Kolo Muani are free to leave PSG this summer.
