Liverpool have been dealt another transfer blow with reports Manchester City have entered the race for Yan Diomande.

Diomande, 19, has been at the centre of one of the saga’s of the summer with the Reds, City, Real Madrid and PSG all interested in the RB Leipzig superstar. According to Sky Germany, City have verbally indicated they are prepared to put together a package of around €100million (£85m).

However, Leipzig still see that package as too small and have already rejected similar approaches from both Liverpool and Madrid. The report adds that if Diomande is to leave it will only be for above €100m.

However, Fabrizio Romano posted on X: “Manchester City have gone quiet on Yan Diomande days ago after calls to check the situation, same for Arsenal.

“Diomande has only opened doors to Real Madrid since he agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain in June. Real Madrid now in club to club talks with Leipzig.”

It’s another blow for Liverpool – who are struggling to find someone to fill the sizeable boots of Mohamed Salah this summer.

Liverpool remain in the hunt for a winger and Monaco and France star Akliouche has been mooted as a target for the Reds, according to Sky Sports.

Nevertheless, the Premier League outfit are once more locked in battle with PSG as the clubs previously clashed in the pursuit of Diomande earlier this summer.

The RB Leipzig star is understood to favour a switch to the Champions League holders and a similar narrative has allegedly emerged in Akliouche’s situation.

He did urge caution over supporters believing the Frenchman’s transfer to PSG is sealed, clarifying that talks between the clubs remain incomplete.
